The food and menu selection was amazing. They are living out their mission to serve the best wood-smoked food. Do try their Mac... n cheese. They have two different types and both are good. Our server, Courtney, was friendly and courteous. This restaurant isnew and has been a great asset to the SWFL community. Not only do a portion of the proceeds go to Hope Hospice, they collectingcare packages for military service members in time for Veteran's Day and have been providing the local community with free foodvia food trucks during the aftermath of Hurricane Ian. Came down to Cape coral for vacation. We happened to see this place as a "food near you" option on Google and decided to give it... a try..... ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!! I enjoyed the Tornado (couldn't finish as it is massive!) And my wife had the Cubano sandwichwhich was also a delicious choice. We are in town for a week and we will definitely be back before we leave. Would highlyrecommend!! Read more
My family and I have been wanting barbecue for some time. We ALL enjoyed our orders! My son wouldn?t stop talking about his... food! I ordered the 2 meat platter (brisket & burnt ends), the 8 cheese Mac, cornbread, big 8 beans & banana pudding. My man hadthe 2 meat platter (Turkey & pulled chicken), collard greens, cornbread, big 8 beans, and the peanut butter pie. My son had thebig 8 burger with cheese, big 8 Mac and cheese, and the brownie with ice cream. Everything was SO good! I had to stop myselffrom eating all my man?s collard greens. It's a nice place. Comfortable and definitely smells good. We got smoked pepper jack cheese for an appetizer. Wife and I were... both happy with this. The pretzel bread it comes with and the just-right smokiness of the cheese was a treat. Wife got jambalaya(pic). I got a mini tornado (pic) and 3 bones (pic) because I couldn't make up my mind. Wife was content with the jambalaya. Itried some and the flavor was good with just the right amount of kick. I would've been happier with the my tornado if all thedifferent items were in separate piles on the plate. I realize it wouldn't be a tornado then. But at least I'd be able to tellwhich items were really good and what was bringing it down. The ribs were just okay. Wouldn't crack my top 10 for sure. Thebanana pudding we got for dessert was decent. We didn't regret the visit by any means. There's some unique things on the menuthat were neat to try. I have to say. OMG!! I have had BBQ in Texas and this brings a smile ????. Great BBQ. Oh, make your own opinion. But you can't... go wrong. They treat you right. Friendly. They make it right if they don't have it or run out they will make it good. FYI orderearly. They do run out. Read more
We moved to the Cape recently, so have since been exploring the local restaurant/bar scene. We subsequently stumbled across the... Big 8 BBQ. Oh my goodness, it?s literally THE best BBQ we?ve ever had, hands down! We had the smoked turkey and beef brisket -so tender and flavorful. We could easily cut it with our forks! We decided today that there?s no need to ever roast a turkey orgrill our own beef brisket ever again! Their sides are also house-made and delicious. We had their smoked potato salad, collardgreens, and mac and cheese - so darn good! Their service is top notch too. Get there ASAP! You will not be disappointed. Read more
Pros: Good beef brisket. Excellent hot chili Tender ribs Hot BBQ Sauce Mac & Cheese Very attentive staff Cons: Sausage link -... greasy and not very good. Burnt Ends - not very tender and I didn?t care for the regular BBQ sauce they were slathered in. CornMuffin - Dry and crumbly. Not moist. $1.50 for a can of Coke. Bottom line: If you go, get the beef brisket and chili. You?llenjoy it and be glad you stopped in. So even though I rated Big 8 Three stars, it?s still the best BBQ I?ve tried in Floridaand I recommend Big 8 BBQ because it?s decent food. I travel the U.S. trying BBQ so I?m comparing everything to TexasBBQ. This place lacks a lot of polish and feels more like a cafeteria than an authentic BBQ joint. Read more
Best BBQ I?ve ever had. And I?ve had A LOT of BBQ and am pretty good on the smoker. The Brisket Burnt Ends were outstanding,... and the 8 cheese Mac and cheese is all time. (Yes, 8 freaking cheeses, the madness). 2nd time had the turkey and ribs, both wereexcellent. If your anywhere near Cape Coral you should mos def hit this place up. Read more
