Visited Marker 92 for the first time last night for a dual birthday celebration. Lovely ambience and great sunset view. Happy... hour wine at $4 a glass. Entrees a bit pricey but food was very good. When the breeze picked up and they turned on the outdoorfire pit for us. Very pleasant. My brother’s NY Strip was overcooked and had to be sent back but the redo was fine and thesteak was large. The restaurant comp’ed his meal for the inconvenience and gave him a piece of key lime pie to go which was aclassy thing to do. You rarely see this kind of service and accountability these days. As with any open door place near the water, it was a little warm and uncomfortable inside. The hostess area was nice and cool... however once you sat down it was a different story. The service was really good and we found people to be very personable. Onlystayed for a few drinks but it left a positive impression so I would return. Great Tarpon Point burgers inside or outside at the Nauti mermaid. Fries are fabulous. Mahi Tacos are fresh and perfect. My... dining companion enjoyed the chilled shrimp and avocado. Our family has been coming here since it opened and it has consistentlygood food and service in comfortable surroundings, whether outside on the patio or inside in the wood appointed dining room. Staying at the hotel and decided to try the restaurant for an early lunch. We were the only customers inside or outside at the... time but waited over 20 minutes for someone to come to the table and ask us if anyone had taken our drink order yet and we saidno and she said she would get someone for us right away. The staff was all outside the kitchen talking and doing absolutelynothing and would glance over at us from time to time but nobody ever came to take our order, we waited nearly 40 minutes andnobody ever came so we finally left. We visited the bar at Marker 92 on three nights during our recent stay at the Westin. The food was good and the drinks were... good. What was great, however, was Zoe. She was one of the most personable and nice members of a service team we have ever met.She was like a friend from the start. She made a 4-star experience a 5-star one for us. Staff was friendly and helpful. For a resort of this magnitude the Bistro was poor. The appetizers very basic, the soup had no... flavor, an avocado and shrimp salad consisted of a handful of spring lettuce spread out on an oblong 10 in plate, sliced avocadowas spread over the salad like a deck of cards, while unseasoned farm raised shrimp is placed across the plate, and finishingwith a careless spread of cocktail sauce. The 45 dollar steak was ordered med rare and given full rare. It was a 2 plus in.steak cooked 2 1/2 minutes on each side then brought to the table. We sent it back and it came back the same way, needless tosay we did not request it to be cooked a third time. I truly believe the restaurant needs to revise their menu and hire a betterchef. What a beautiful place, the food was very good and the personal very kind.

Some of the reviews here seem awfully skewed; I'd like to give a fair review. I currently work at a "Five Star rated" restaurant... and know the value of quality food/presentation, service and the importance of atmosphere. I really like this place (been herethree times so far), and will be back. I feel it is a bit over-priced, but food is uniquely prepared and good, wine list isdecent, desserts are average, coffee is really good and service is mediocre. However, I come here for the VIEW. It's absolutelygorgeous! It's like stepping into another country. I realize I could come here and just have wine and appetizers, but the foodis good enough that I'll pay that overpriced amount to relax, enjoy a decent meal/drinks and watch the sun light up the whiteboats in the harbor. I'm sure I'll be back again. They could probably use better front and back of house management to offermore consistency, creativity and better service, but overall I like this place and hope it fine-tunes the details. Read more
