WOW! The best Mexican food I've had in forever! The Mexican coke was better than ours - no carbonated bite, nice balance of... flavors. Me and my fiance doordashed from this restaurant last night and let me tell you the reviews are deceiving!!! The worst mexican... food we have ever had and the icing on the cake is we both have food poisioning now ???? but to review the actual taste of thefood here it goes, we got the carne asada burrito combo came with 2 barely edible burritos on the most pitiful lookingtortillas. The only flavors we tasted were cheap steak and avacado. Not guac just avacado because we also ordered a side of guacand thats all it tasted like was mashed avacados. The rice and beans tasted like literally nothing. The chips literally smelledso bad and actually like burnt churros. The only thing that was actually decent, kind of, was the queso cheese. It had a weirdaftertaste but it wasnt terrible as everything else. Im not sure if maybe it was just a bad night for them and thats why ourfood was so bad differing from all the good reviews but I would never order from this place again and nevr reccomend it toanyone ever. I?m not one to post reviews but I was extremely impressed with the quality and flavor of the food I received at Abelardo?s. I... recently moved to Cape and I have lived in many different states (one being Texas) but this is by far the most authentic tastingMexican food I have had in a while. I did not want hot or spicy sauces because of heartburn but Also I do not Care for it personally. There was NO sauce i tasted... that was MILD enough. 10/10. Didn?t expect to find Birria Tacos in Cape Girardeau but I did and this place exceeded expectations! I also had a Lengua... Burrito and it was huge! A lot of food for your buck. Read more
This new Mexican restaurant opened across from Southeast Hospital. Even though it is franchise chain, the atmosphere is very... comfortable and welcoming. The staff was truly ready for their new customers. The menu is extensive so you might want to look atthe website or you'll spend a long time in front of the counter deciding. The combos are generally one or two items instead ofone of everything but again plenty of options. I had a could of carne asada tacos with chorizo added. Everything truly tastedfresh and was very well seasoned. Unlike several restaurants around that I usually leave the Spanish rice because of being dry,theirs was some of the best I've had. The prices are slightly higher than others in town but I feel the portions are larger aswell. Will definitely be returning. Read more
