Despite its small size, they Accommodated our family our family of 8 perfectly (including infant!) and were warm and welcoming!... The food was fantastic from the apps to desserts! We liked the price fixe option if dining between 5-6 pm but also theflexibility to order anything else. The restaurant itself needs a little TLC. Read more
My family and I have been loyal customers for 14yrs now. The food here is consistently wonderful. The service is always warm... and attentive. You're not coming here for the ambience- although the dining room is cozy and comfortable. You're coming forthe greatest crab cakes ANYWHERE, a carbonara that is almost too good to be true, outstanding pan fried jersey tomatoes withremoulade, the most delicious seafood offerings anywhere at the jersey shore, the perfect rack of lamb "lollipops". Simply the best dining experience in Cape May this year. It's now 6/26/22 and my friends and I had a wonderful experience. Gena... our waitress incredible as always, actually the whole front if the house staff on that night were incredible. 3 of us thatdined have health issues and gratefully they all wore masks. I was recommended by my good friend to try Backstreet for dinner and I was not disappointed! The food was delicious (my favorite... was the pan fried tomatoes). The staff were warm, friendly, and professional. I enjoyed the ambiance as well, it was a smallplace which makes it feel more cozy. My friend Joe told me to check out his family?s restaurant while I was vacationing in Cape May and I am so happy I did. Food was... amazing. And best crab cakes I?ve ever had! Homemade bread was so yummy that I took some to the beach with me the next day. Butshortly after taking this photo, a seagull swiped a piece out of my hand lol. Sea gull approved! Fantastic Food !! The owners came out to greet us to make sure we were well taken care of. The peach cobbler is fantastic and... they have a banana foster dessert to die for. My husband and I had a wonderful dinner here last summer (2016). He had pan fried sea bass and I had the steak with bleu cheese... butter. Both were delicious. The service was great and the BYOB (no corking fee) helped keep the cost down. We were too full fordessert so we brought the entire family (15 aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.) back with us for breakfast that weekend.
