We had to visit our namesake while we were in Cape May this last time... Dinner was good, they have a smaller menu which is fine... because where they shine is their drink menu. Every single thing we ordered was wonderful. From the calamari to the crabfritters. And the Cold front cocktail was a favorite of everyone! Read more
Can't comment on the food just the service. Stopped in after a sunset boat trip with 10 adults and 6 kids as they had a band... outside without anyone sitting. Kids loved the band. We all bought drinks and were having a great time. Band loved us especiallythe kids dancing. They even got down and were showing the kids their instruments while they were playing. Everyone was having agreat time and we were even talking to the tables around us. Until we kept getting told by a waitress or someone at therestaurant that the kids were not allowed to dance. (There was a dance floor in front of the band) multiple times she came overand told us no dancing and that there is glass all over the place and they might get hurt. Finally she flat out came out andsaid we don't want kids here. Highly recommend the band! Didnt have the food but would never go back based on how rude andridiculous the one staff person who came over to us. Read more
Another year, another review. Mayer's never ceases to amaze me with the quality of the food on their menu. The scallops and... muscles were cooked perfectly and their sauce and side pairing was divine. Live music as always on point and service was promptbut relaxed. 5 stars as always. Went to Mayer?s this evening for dinner outside under the spring sun on the patio and had the best time. Our sever Abby was... absolutely amazing and really made our time there that much better. I never ever leave reviews, but felt the need to hop onhere to pass on to those checking this page out that you can?t go wrong with Mayer?s when in Cape May. The front of house staffis amazing, the kitchen crew knows what they?re doing, and overall you?ll have a wonderful experience. Get the scallops, you?rewelcome. Read more
Recently redone and upgraded this is no longer a fisherman's shot and beer bar expect a chic local vibe with a new outdoor deck... and large open bar window with a view of the deck. The menu is limited but all of the appetizers are excellent. Indoor seatingwith air conditioning or outdoor seating Worth the visit as many locals and Cape May tourist have found this new spot. If youboating in the area at South JERSEY marina or Cape May Marina its less than a five minute walk. If you are coming from the CapeMay Whale Watcher you are. Across the parking lot. Very disappointing experience. Food is overpriced and not worth it. My daughter ordered an $11 salad and received a plate of... lettuce. When I questioned the waitress she acted like it was perfectly normal. When we asked if she had anything to bring toadd to it, she brought over 5 slices of cucumber from the bar. Really!?!?? I should have sent it back and refused to pay, but Ialso feel like the lack of staff support and customer satisfaction stunk!!! She should have offered my daughter something else.
