This is my favorite place to eat in the whole world. Now ill be honest, I haven't eaten anywhere outside of the United States... but of all the places I have eaten in the States, this is by far the best place I've ever eaten...Bar None. It is not just thefood that is good, which by the way is OUT OF THIS WORLD, it's everything about this restaurant. The staff, the live music, andthe ambiance. Every night there is live music by Kahlil V. Gunther. He plays the piano so beautifully. He accepts song requestsas well. My first time there with my girlfriend was during Restaurant Week in Cape May. One of our songs is "Can't Help FallingIn Love" by Elvis. My girl requested that song and one other that I forget the name of but is one of her favorites, he playedthem both. And to top it off Elvis's song came on right as we started eating our appetizers. When it came on we both put outforks down and gazed into each other's eyes. I started to tear up and the very next moment she started to cry as well. It wasjust so beautiful and magical. We fell in love with each other all over again in that moment. We pulled ourselves together aftera few moments and started to eat our appetizers. Then just as dinner was being placed on the table, the other song came on and Ilooked into her beautiful eyes and could tell she was in absolute bliss. Anyway, if you are looking for a wonderful meal and apleasant and soothing atmosphere and or looking to rekindle your love with someone, I highly suggest booking a reservation here.You will have the time of your life. Been here a number of times in the past. Beautiful place, warm and cozy with good service. Issue is with the food, lobster was... bland, served without drawn butter. NY strip was grizzly and under cooked, if you are going to charge $50.00 for a steak youshould know how to prepare it . First time in my life I sent a dish back, they corrected it but still not great. When othersare done eating by the time your meal comes out it doesn't help the cause. Will exhaust all other options for a nice mealbefore returning. Read more
I was nervous knowing that the chef had left to start his own restaurant in spring 2022, but my fears were not warranted! There... was no drop off in food quality or service at all and my fears were definitely not justified! Our server Sean was a really coolguy and made our experience that much better. My review will serve as a report that Peter Shields Inn remains a bastion to CapeMay cuisine as always and for that I am thankful. Thanks again for another great PSI experience . Read more
This is our special place! Do you want a "step up" place to go for a great dinner? Very elegant, exceptional service and a ... great piano player ( certain nights) and he has a process for you to text requests...which come up next song!! We stop at leasttwice a year...summer and for Tony's birthday 12/21. We look forward to our visits...they aren't open on Tuesdays. Read more

Wonderful experience with the family for Mother's Day! Delicious food and exceptional service... Highly recommended! For most... of the meal, we had the room to ourselves - not sure if that's because we made reservations several days prior or if we just gotlucky, but it definitely added to the exclusive feel. Their other dining room had several guests. Their building is beautifullystunning inside and out - pocket doors, arched windows with original glass, all the original moldings and architecture, copperrain gutters etc, the list goes on... so much to appreciate which added to memorable conversations at dinner. Our 35th anniversary and we loved every second of it! The staff, attention, FOOD! and dessert were absolutely the best! Piano... started at 5:45 and we loved it! Nothing but great things to say and shout out to Shawn who made our experience one never toforget! Highly recommend!! Read more
