My first visit to the Pier House this morning and was happily greeted by the staff. Basically had my choice of any table in the... place. Service was swift, portions were generous and the food was good. Don?t expect a vibrant atmosphere?it?s diner-like interms of decor and was as quiet as a morgue upon my visit. Place is great if you?re looking to get in and out quickly withoutleaving La Mer. Read more

This used to be one of my favorite spots in Cape May, and I?m upset to say, it has completely gone downhill. We had a 7:30... reservation and didn?t get a drink until 8:15. The French onion soup was fine, but the rest of our shared apps were inedible -calamari was rubbery, ahi tuna was warm, and the cocktail shrimp was completely over cooked. The server didn?t even bother tocheck to see why we were leaving a table full of uneaten food. I hope they can go back to what they were before, but right now,I do not recommend going. Read more

waiters were very nice but the food was bad. the calamari was very salty and fried. i orded the cavatappi and it had too much... cheese. the ribeye was too salty. my father did not like the crab cake and my mother didnt hate the salmon or the salad but therice tasted weird. i also must say that the prices are ridiculous. we ordered one drink and payed 200+ for the entire night. forthat food, that price is not worth it. the bruschetta was good and the bread was some of the best bread i've had so that, combined with the excellent service, earned pier house two stars. and this is a very generous review.. Excellent service. Wonderful venue and overall good food. My wife's pork chop was very good but my wedge salad had way way way... too much dressing !! Oh my the poor Lettuce and veggies were drowning in dressing!.... all you need to do is put dressing onthe side. That's it. Outside Live music was very enjoyable. Relaxing and easy...perfect t for dinner... Also...please havebartenders practice making Old Fashioned a bit...practice makes perfect. Overall enjoyable. Also, on Thursday night parkingwas super easy and close Read more

3 star restaurant with a 5 star setting. Where's the flavor?? Where's the culinary expertise?? Why did we wait 45 minutes on a... slow night for raw scallops?? This is a great place, awesome atmosphere, if you are trying to appease many palettes andespecially picky and bland palettes. If you are used to many flavors and taste dishes, this is not it. I may have accidentallyordered the blandest food on the menu. To start I had the roasted tricolor cauliflower with curry and mushrooms. First, it wasjust white cauliflower. Not a major problem. Second, the mushrooms were canned. Ok ????. There really isn't an excuse being insouth jersey. Finally, it was so bland. I couldn't taste any of the curry. For dinner, I had the pappardelle. As you can seefrom my picture, the mushrooms were also canned and the sauce had 0 flavor and just tasted like milk. You can see my fork sinkin the milk froth. My husband had the scallops. The risotto was undercooked and the last scallop was raw!! It was a very slownight from the looks of the tables and our food took more than 45 minutes. We were very disappointed especially with howexpensive the food is. Read more

Our family of 4 adults ate here this week and we had an OK meal. Nothing special. We started with the Brussel sprouts, Caesar... Salad and tuna apps. For our meals we had the Sword Fish, Steak, Chicken with mushrooms and the scallops. The scallops were byfar the best meal. I would stay away from the Steak as there are many other places in the area that have better for the sameprice. For dessert we had the chocolate tart, cheese cake and apple bake. We also had 3 drinks total. For $320 plus tip Iexpect much more. The service was poor as well and the restaurant was not even at 50% capacity on a week night. We tried itbut will not be back.
