We celebrated our annual holiday party with friends at Walker’s this past Saturday night. There were 9 of us. We arrived for a... 5 o’clock reservation on time and entered the restaurant with about 20 other patrons when the doors opened at 5. Beautifulrestaurant with roaring fire, great table in somewhat enclosed private area. We ordered our drinks and then we waited 55 minutesfor our drink order to arrive. No apps, no bread, just water. For 55 minutes. The food when we were finally served about anhour and a half after arrival was fabulous. We ordered our second round of cocktails when the first round arrived as aprecaution but many of us really would have just preferred a glass of wine at that time. I don’t want to make this aboutalcohol, but I believe if you want to run a high end restaurant, charge high end prices, then the whole service and foodexperience needs to be on point. Not sure if they just couldn’t handle the mass onslaught of patrons right at opening or ourlarger party had them running behind. Everyone else in our room at 2 tops that arrived at the same time were eating theirappetizers before we got our cocktails. Will try again but definitely with a smaller party. Read more

Beautiful fall atmosphere including wood burning fireplaces, couches and wonderful, attentive and friendly staff. I found the... menu to be very limited and the choices too exotic for my taste. I do appreciate culinary creativity, but my wood smoked haddockwas topped with so many ingredients (can't recall most) and the smoky flavor was so strong I could not enjoy the haddock itself. Many people will love this place; for me I think it's just that the chef's style is not my preference. Very much enjoyed their version of a Cassoulet with plenty of slow roasted pork, plus their Wood Roasted Haddock. Definitely... will return, and as with many restaurants, they are working through temporary challenges. Read more

Our dinner at Walkers was exceptional. The setting was gorgeous and the food was delicious… impeccably prepared, marrying... unique flavors together. We enjoyed the chicken wings and fire roasted cauliflower (a must-order) to start. Our entrees rangedfrom slow roasted pork, to risotto and summer squash, to duck, to fresh pasta with pesto, and finally to the Thai fried chicken. The portions were hearty and the food was phenomenal, as were the cocktails (Sin & Tonic was my favorite). The brioche donutsfor dessert put the exclamation point on this meal - huge wow factor. The staff were wonderful. Our server was kind, friendlyand engaging, and the other staff that helped to serve the food (we were a big party) and bus the table were all equallyfriendly and helpful. The attention to detail at this place is unbelievable - it exceeds so many other restaurants out there andmakes for a dining experience that is simply a cut above rest. If you’re in the York area, Walkers is not to be missed. Read more

If you are looking for a unique and truly amazing place to check out…look no further. I just went here on a 2nd date with... someone very special and everything was out of this world. From the hostess, to the wait staff to the food and ambience. I cannot say enough good things about this place. And the food is pure heaven. The pumpkin fries are a def must! We also had the maitai drink and it was just beyond delicious. The bolognese was incredible as was the chicken saltimboca. And don’t even thinkabout leaving before you order their in-house made donuts! This is a true gem and you won’t regret going!!! Read more

Went out for a birthday celebration dinner and was not disappointed! The atmosphere is super cozy with roaring fireplaces,... dimmed lighting, and comfy seats. Our drinks were excellent, and I always appreciate when a restaurant lists mocktails on theirmenu. The pumpkin fries were perfect for fall and I loved the salmon entree. My husband’s haddock was a little underwhelming, but everything else made up for it. Gotta try the brioche donuts with house made ice cream. Our waiter was so nice and evenbrought our dessert out with a lit candle because he noticed we had a card on the table (I didn’t even tell him it was myhusband’s birthday!). Overall such a great experience and we will definitely be back and recommending this charming place toour local friends. Read more
