Good food, great service, incredible location. We are outside on a July Saturday. We were told about 20 minutes without an... animal. Very dog friendly establishment. Gave them cellphone number and went shopping. Twenty minutes later a text came and wewent to eat diner. Son had a Juicy cheese burger and crisp fries. Daughter had a bread bowl of creamy delicious New England clamchowder. I had the grilled mahi Maui with coconut rice and veggies. My other half had grilled sea bass, perfectly cooked.Didn’t have room for dessert. Matt our server was fantastic. The drinks from the bar were served fast and were strong. Thesetting is so incredibly beautiful. The sounds and the sights are worth the wait. I would definitely go back again. Read more
Incredible location right on the Portola beach with a lively outdoor seating. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Three... stars for these reasons, because the food is mediocre at best. Beware of the 4% surcharge prior to deciding whether you want to eat here…. Zelda's deserves a solid 3.5 stars but I wanted... to give them the benefit of the doubt and posted 4. First off, they are at a prime location, downtown Capitola right of thebeach. It was beautiful, the service was good but when I asked the server whether or not the fish and chips were fresh batteredfish, she wasn’t sure so she had to check with the Chef. Yes, the fish were fresh not boxed. When the fish and chips arrived,I realized our server didn’t understand the question. The dish came out breaded not battered, theirs a difference. Also,ordered a bowl of clam chowder but it was hard to compare to the other we had the day before in Santa Cruz. MUST GET – SpicyBloody Mary and house salad. I loved that the outdoor patio is dog friendly. They have a coffee shop inside and the décor isdefinitely modern. The seagulls are crazy, if they don’t take the tray away prior to you leaving then they will swarm towardsyou leaving loose feathers everywhere (not very sanitary) Lastly, the extra 4% surcharge is ridiculous.
