The service couldn?t have been better. The food on the other hand was not that great. We traveled for about two hours to the... restaurant as I had read the reviews online and was anxious to try the Prime Rib. The four of us in our party had the prime riband we all came away with the same consensus. It was tough as shoe leather and was extremely bland. Absolutely no flavor at all(not good not bad). The broccoli was very good and the ground horseradish was some of the best I have ever had. The prime ribhowever was not. Maybe we were unfortunate to visit on an off day or maybe it was an uncharacteristically tough piece of meatfrom the butcher, regardless it was certainly nothing to write home about. Furthermore the tab was just over $200 (with tip), Iwill certainly reconsider ordering the prime rib if we return. Read more
Absolutely the best 20oz prime rib I've ever eaten!! I'm only a few weeks away from my 59th birthday I travel all over the world... This restaurant has been in the area for a long time and changes ownership somewhat regularly over that time. It is off the... beaten track and had been an exceptional place to get steak and seafood. We would visit quite regularly and used to have greatexperiences with exceptional food. After a somewhat recent change of ownership the quality of food and service has gonedownhill quite dramatically. Since this change, you are often rushed out, ignored for long periods of time and served poorlyprepared food. This is not an inexpensive hole in the wall as it has pricing comparable to other higher end steakhouses inSouthwest Montana. It is somewhat small with more of a diner ambiance so you are definitely paying for the service and food. The food is usually served at best somewhat warm and often straight up cold with the meat typically under or over cooked. Thelast straw was for Father's Day. We know it can be busy on holidays, so called a couple days prior to ensure the hours and bestplan for a Father's Day meal. We came when told, shortly after opening and there were few in the restaurant. Despite it notyet being busy, we were first delayed a few times, then told to come back later and finally once it got busy were flat out toldthey were too busy for us. We were confused since we planned ahead and asked to speak with the manager to try and clear thingsup. The manager refused to talk with us and instead stayed in the back relaying comments through a server. If we just showedup and hoped to get in it would be one thing, but we called ahead, did what was asked and after multiple delays were just turnedaway. Long story short, don't give older reviews any credence as they were for a different restaurant and experience. La Hoodhas gone downhill and is not worth the money for mediocre food and being treated like they are too busy for their customers. Read more

Could not have been better. Adorable little restaurant/bar in the side of the mountain. Bartender/owner makes a mean old... fashion. Steak was outstanding (ordered mine medium rare came out perfect). I would go out of my way to go there again. Read more
Absolutely adorable little restaurant on the side of mountain, gorgeous views all around!!!! Super close to lewis and clark... caverns camp grounds. The lady that served us was incredibly attentive, kind and hospitable despite her being the only server onthe floor with nearly a room full of customers. She warned us even that she make take a bit longer then normal due to that factbut we never really noticed her absence or felt a lack of service. Food also tasted great, fresh and flavorful.
