Camping at killbear and popped over to Gillly?s for dinner. We all ordered fish and chips, very large pieces of fish and tasted... very fresh. Large outdoor patio to eat outside. After dinner went downstairs to store for ice cream for dessert. Read more

Arrived on a weekday without a reservation (the website states that only 50% of seats can be reserved) and were seated promptly.... The caesar was extremely tasty, not so much the garlic bread. The whitefish and fries arrived prompt. The fish wasdelicious. However, the fries were not at all warm. They could best be described as cool to the touch. I didn't mention itto the server because the fish portions were so large and filling that I wasn't going to eat the fries anyway. So, overallimpression was that the fish is not to be missed. Highly edible food! The seafood chowder I ordered had one bite of seafood and 85% undercooked potatoes, the broth was rather... more on the liquid end, bland. The garlic bread was like a chain pub quality, didn?t really fit the theme. However fish andchips were impeccable, white fish is what you wanna order here. Cute, adorable, delicious, and comfortable. We absolutely loved the attentive staff, the fresh food and overall experience. The... outdoor, covered patio was wonderful - and awesome views to boot. We had the fish chowder which was tasty, the escargo was nicebut we really loved the pickerel fish and chips. Crunchy, yet fresh, not overly battered, flakey and tender, with amazing chipsto boot. The patio allowed for dogs which we appreciated! The staff was the best part about the restaurant. Everyone of themcared about their customers, not only warm and friendly but genuinely sincere. Absolutely love this restaurant! 2021 is the first year that they have been open into the thanksgiving Monday holiday and we... were able to enjoy a wonderful dinner as we were not able to get out earlier. We went for the fish and even though they did nothave any more Georgian Bay Whitefish, we still enjoyed the pickerel. Very tasty, very well prepared. Escargot was amazing aswell as the drinks we enjoyed from the bar. We?ve been coming here for many years and we?ve never been disappointed - we alwayslook forward to the the most excellent food and most excellent service. Thanks to Ryan our server tonight and Michel for gettingus such a great table - our favourite corner booth to watch the boats and the sunset. Due to COVID last year, we still enjoyedthe fish and chips and had take out, but, the best is to relax and spend time at the restaurant with friends and family.
