First time there. I love the atmosphere. Had the tamales and they were good. The menu was just a couple food items. Very very... limited. But what I had was good. Read more

Tamales were dry but I love everything else on their menu! Definitely give their butter bean soup a try!

Have been going to Taylor's my entire life(60+ years) and it's still the best chili in the world! It's changed hands and... locations but the one thing that hasn't changed is the quality. The service is great too! Keep up the great work! Read more

Local's recommendation for first-timers: Tell the waitress you want "Butterbean with" The best of both worlds the fabulous... Butterbean soup with a large spoonful of the chili meat sauce added on top. The straight chili is very old school made with beefsuet. Very tasty but not for everyone. Try a small bowl. Don't be afraid to try the vegetable soup, made with finely dicedvegetables in a hearty beef base. Wash down with old fashioned bottled root beer. Read more

Made the trip to Taylor's Chili after last visit 20 years ago. New location, North side of Square now. Chili was good, like I... remembered, with suet, meat and beans. Service was lacking however, two servers for a packed lunch crowd. Took over 1/2 hour toget 2 bowls of chili. Also no distancing with tables, just pack em in. Overall disappointment. Read more

I?ve been coming to Carlinville since I was a little guy and had never heard of Taylor?s chili until about 10 or 15 years ago or... so when I saw it on a national television show . I finally stopped in the last time I was there in January and bought some chilito go and a case to bring back to Colorado. I love it! I love the story and the history and the location in the historic townsquare. Two thumbs up! Great chili! Don?t ever change a thing. Read more
