Enjoy a good meal at a reasonable price. Nice bar on one side and enjoyable restaurant separate from the bar for added... enjoyment. The menu has a nice variety of meals to offer, which is always a plus to please all guests. Pork fritters and friesare good! Beef pony very good! Ruben sandwich good also! Definitely want to give you the "rustic" feel. Too much for me. No handicap ramp. Food was good and server polite.

I have been here before and had great food and service! This time however the food was bland, and I waited at least 10 minutes... for my ticket, while watching and listening the waitress talking to the only other table who were finished and paid. As I wasmessaging on my phone for work, I hear the waitress talking badly about people and their phone addictions. She ranted and rantednever even bothering to look over at my table (The ONLY other table). After almost 10 minutes of listening to her talking rudelyabout people, I finally just got up and went to the bar side where the nice young lady let me pay for my food there. The last time I was here was in November 2015. I'm not sure if it was called "Uptown Tavern" at that time. I came with a friend... to get some Taylor's Chili. The bar area is nice, with a sort of elegant appearance. Looks classic. If I lived in Carlinville,I'd probably be a regular here. Read more
Enjoyed the outdoor seating. Server was friendly and our food was delivered in a timely manner. Nice beer selection. We had the... black bean burgers & fries. With the pretzels as our appetizer. All delicious! Read more
