This was a very nice and enjoyable little place to sit down and grab a bite to eat after a nice day at the beach. The food was pretty decent, but the customer service experience was not up to par at all, when one of the waitresses was so... drunk taking our order, she ask can she sit down and than proceed to sit down.. I?ve never experienced that EVER at arestaurant. & than the waitresses started arguing with each other. It was just really unprofessional and it took forever to geta glass of water. Read more
Update: horrible, beyond horrible service. We must have lucked out the first time around. Super embarrassed we brought friends... this time swearing how amazing it was only for it to be awful. They also are not kid friendly at all. They should truly taketheir kids menu off the menu to make the message more clear. Never in all my motherhood have I gone somewhere so unfriendly tomy kids. Came here for some cocktails, and was pleasantly surprised. They have a nice grouping of mezcal cocktails, which is my favorite... liquor, they are yummy. I had the Lolita, santeria, kaleesi and a nectarine margarita, all super yummy. (The one with thetamarindo candy is the Santeria and my favorite) I also had 3 tacos, 1 vegetarian which had tempura battered avocado with ajicama slaw, cannot recommend enough and 2 carnitas tacos, also delicious. Really good food I love the patio area nice view of downtown Carlsbad. Restaurant is located in the middle of downtown Carlsbad... great location and the staff is great. If u want some really good Mexican food and drinks this is definitely the place to go Ihighly recommend trying this place out. Read more
We found this place just walking by, and decided to stop in to try one of the many tequilas. There are more than 100 tequilas,... and what's especially unique is they offer half pours of several! We sat at the outside portion of the bar and service wasprompt. Looking over a food menu, we saw that Barrio offers a dog menu, which we loved, so we decided to return for brunch thenext morning. We brought our dog back for brunch, and were immediately won over by the chips and salsa. They are house/scratchmade and sooo good! Our margarita and sangria were great also, and we were happy with the huevos rancheros and quesadilla. Thisplace is pretty small and really cute, and we will definitely be back! Although we didn't get to try them on this visit, thehappy hour specials and tequila tastings sound fantastic. Read more
The staff is so great here. We come for the margaritas and the food is great as well. Love Carlsbad and love this spot!
