Ordered chicken teriyaki, dragon hand rolls and California rolls. Reasonable prices with generous portions.
Don?t waste your time or money. I ordered pick up tonight and sad to say this was the third time in a row I?ve been let down.... Real crab California roll was fishy as in old crab. Hamachi tough and fishy. They Even seared it to try and mask how old thefish was. HORRIBLE!!! Do not waste your money. I won?t be back. Read more
We usually do lunch at Hooked On Sushi, but it's been awhile since we've been here. Glad to see the food is still... good!???? The dining area/areas have seen all sorts of configurations in the past, due to San Diego County rules, re: COVID-19. We just visited, on 6/22/2022, and you currently enter the restaurant thru a door into what was the secondary dining room. Thedining area where the Sushi Bar was located, is now closed, due to construction. Also, at one time, they had an outdoor diningarea, covered by a tent, but this is no longer here. My wife & I both like their California Rolls. We spread on a healthy bitof Wasabi, then top them with pickled ginger. What you now have is an improved bite, with a little heat from the Wasabi, plusextra flavor from the ginger. We also love their Chicken Teriyaki, thin strips of tender chicken, covered in their tastyteriyaki sauce. Another thing we order is their Tempura, either Mixed Tempura, with light, crispy-battered veggies, & 2 largefried shrimp, or Vegetable Tempura, which has that same unforgettable crispy batter, covering pieces of zucchini, broccoli,butternut squash, green beans & sweet potato. Good eats here. This place will be better, comfort & aesthetics-wise, onceconstruction is finished. The current dining room they use, is fairly small for my taste, & when people start coughing insidehere, which several were, I begin to feel uncomfortable. Yes,yes,yes,yes and a million times yes! This was an awesome sushi spot with reasonable prices and great parking in Carlsbad.... The fish was fresh and I throughly enjoyed their sashimi and bento box. Everything was affordable and they even had pickledwasabi. Our hostess was kind. ???? The only downside was that I couldn't trade out the California roll for a tuna roll eventhough I offered to pay. The lunch special was awesome. ???? Read more
I was very impressed with the quality of the sushi here. I was blown away by the artistry behind the different rolls my friend... and I ordered. The service was on point, we had a few different servers attend to us even though there were several dine-inparties. I could tell just from sitting there that their takeout service was quick and efficient. I highly recommend this placefor those looking for a quick bite of sushi! Read more
We ordered on New Years Eve, and the wait was terrible for online take out with them being overwhelmed on orders. Despite that,... the sushi is worth waiting for. The prices are great compared to other sushi restaurants, and none of the taste is compromised.Speciality rolls have such great flavoring, and regular sushi tasted amazingly fresh. Read more
