Went here on a whim. So glad I did! Sat at the bar. The bartender made me a wonderful nonalcoholic fruit drink and was very... kind. Had the shrimp gnocchi and it was incredible, one of the best dishes I have ever eaten. The atmosphere and staff weregreat. The most amazing pasta and gnocchi I’ve had, so flavorful. I am picky about gnocchi and this one melted in my mouth! The music... is also perfect volume and fun. We had the best hostess and waiter, super attentive and friendly. We sat by the fire which wascozy. The wine and margarita was perfect as well. The Pocket is the best addition to Carmel by the Sea. The perfect date night spot, brunch with the family, or dinner with... friends. Wow. The Pocket takes and honors reservations, which is so helpful and appreciated. On a Wednesday night, we startedwith the Burratina. Wow, the burrata and salame was delicious. We went on to eat oysters, citrus salad, bucatini carbonara,gnocchi gamberetti, and braised short rib. Truly, each dish was better than the next. The truffle gnocchi was heavenly and theshort rib and bucatini was rich but so delicious, the perfect sized portions. We received fantastic, kind service and ended thenight with dessert and a birthday serenade. The ambiance of The Pocket is upbeat, classy yet hip and modern. What a place! Read more

Best food we ate in a long time. Each bite was like a little piece of heaven. I had a wonderful brussel sprout salad, seafood... pasta with the most delicious sauce and a gf chocolate cake. My husband enjoyed burattini and truffle gnocchi. We were sittingoutside. The overall atmosphere was quite enjoyable. Service was on point.
