Had my first bad ACME meal ever about a month ago (September 2022). Contacted the restaurant but didn't hear back so am posting... now. Been going to ACME for years and food has always been top-notch. Recent meal was different. Pulled pork was greasy andbland, mac & cheese didn't taste like cheese, slaw was flavorless. So accustomed to full, bold flavors at ACME. Hoping this wasan exception. Read more

This place has some of best bbq I have ever tried. Ordering food took a while and would of been nice for my waitress to at least... acknowledge she would be with me shortly, but was attentive after the fact. Cocktails where also really good. I recommendgetting the apricot and beets starter. Seems like it's often missed and maybe one of their best side dishes. Read more

Been here a few times, it’s actually quite good and one of carrboro’s best restaurants! Delightful outdoor area in the back.... Really a cut above whats in the neighborhood, and with a menu focused on local/sustainable fare when possible… this place isdefinitely worth a visit. :) Read more

We have four kids and live in Carrboro. For years this was our date night getaway. Our review of it would have always been... close to perfect (we left multiple). Not anymore, I don't know what changed but after our last two visits, we will not be back(unless it reverts to how it used to be). For the pecan encrusted fried chicken, it evolved into pecan encrusted chicken fingers(some with bone-in) that were cooked until they had a tough, chewy texture. I used to get steak frites but the last steak I gotthere was thin, over cooked, and bland. We need to find a new date night spot. It is sad, but it is what it is Read more

Acme Food & Beverage uses the best fresh ingredients to create their offerings. Chef Kevin Callaghan made our Film Fest 919 crew... my favorite dish, Shrimp & Grits, (arranged ahead of time). Hands down...THE BEST I've ever tasted. Beautiful decor, excellentservice, creative choices, fun place and outstanding food. The State Fair Menu was fun as well, who knew Frito Pie would tasteso great. Can't rave enough about this amazing dining experience. Read more

GET THE TOMATO PLATE! Or anything with tomatoes, it’s tomato season after all and Acme knows how to pick ‘em. So… tomato... plate, tomato pie, tomato risotto, tomato peach salad, you name it. We also loved the cornbread but make sure to her extrabutter. Other highlights were the Brussels sprouts and the Mac and cheese (unfortunately you can’t get it on its own… Acmeshould fix this). The patio is lovely! Great ambiance. Can’t wait to try brunch here when they start serving it again. Read more

We could not get a reservation for a Friday night so we took a chance and stopped by and were able to get seats at the bar. ... Bartender was very good with drink and food recommendations. We had the beef tip special and the gumbo along with an appetizer. Food is local sourced and was prepared well. The place was busy but did not seem over crowded. Service was excellent and theyincluded a working wage tip on the bill. We will come back when in the area. Read more
