Not good enough for what you pay. They used to be much better than this years ago. Unfortunately jade palace isn't the same... restaurant it was in the 2000s. 2 years into the pandemic, they've opened up only to takeout and they said there was an issuewith their refrigeration (?!), the chicken was dry and the seafood chowder had literally 3 shrimp and was mostly tofu. If you are a person away from home many years looking for a warm place to enjoy Chinese cuisine with someone important to you,... you should go to Jade Palace. I don’t know how the owner managed to remember me and remember what I used to order. It has been5 years now since the first time I visited. Most importantly, I strongly believe the owner have quality control the food toensure the best dining experience for my every visit. There is no place like Jade Palace in RTP and Chapel Hill. It’s hard tofind a restaurant that keeps Chinese menu authentic. The chef CAN COOK! The serving has been amazing and being able to customizeto your taste. Yesterday my husband and I ordered from Jade Palace, after 2 years of failed orders at other Chinese restaurants. So far this... was the best Chinese food I've had since moving to NC in 2018! Our order was delivery and everything tasted fresh and not soggy.The spring rolls had a perfectly crispy exterior with a smooth interior, but not mushy veggies inside. The shrimp friend ricewas perfect- I like my rice cooked somewhere between soft and crisp. My husband's mild orange chicken had the best sauce I'vehad. The walnut shrimp had walnuts and sliced bananas underneath it for flavor. I never had walnut shrimp between it wassurprisingly tasty! We definitely plan on eating here again! Read more
This is most authentic Chinese restaurant around Chapel Hill and Carborro. I started to order when I was a freshman. Right now,... after 3 years, I am stilled amazed how delicious dishes are. I used to go there all the time. The food was great. But now the food isn't as good and not worth the price. Yesterday I paid... almost $10 for the lunch combination fried rice and I got 2 pieces of shrimp 2 strips of chicken and 1 piece of beef. Ibasically got a $10 plate of fried rice. I attached a photo of my rice plate after I ate the 5 pieces of meat. I tried to keepsupporting them but I got the same thing last week and it was just the same as yesterday. A $10 plate of rice. What it is Google. Had a quick ???? lunch special today here and it was great. The service was okay - the waiter was definitely... busy, serving multiple tables at once, so they took a while to come back. The food was great though. Highly recommend theGeneral Tso’s lunch special - ask for “more spicy.” Ahh. Their egg drop soup was great too. ???????? Authentic Chinese food that reminds me of home. The owner is very nice and has supported our sorority’s charity ball many... times. They have been renovating and only offering takeout and delivery. If you are looking for some authentic Chinese food, Irecommend ordering the dishes with Chinese name on the menu. Read more
