We came here for a dinner with friends. The food was pretty good and there was a nice variety of choices. The cocktails were... tasty. I do wish there was more consistency between the portion sizes on the meals and appetizers. Pasta was very small andexpensive vs some of the other mains. We will probably be back to try it again. Excellent dining experience! We sat on the back patio and enjoyed a variety of upscale dishes from the spontaneous menu. Each... dish was a small sample, but enough to be filling and very delicious. I had foods I never would have ordered on my own, liketuna tartare, but I enjoyed everything. Servers were very attentive. Read more

Our waitress seemed really irritated we were there, which was so awkward when we heard the absolutely lovely server at the next... table over explaining the menu and being generally jovial and kind. Going to a nice dinner is always soured by bad service. Also? ask for their liquor price before ordering?my date ordered an Angel?s Envy old fashioned and was charged $27! Comical since abottle of Angel?s is like $50. Overall was SO excited to try out this restaurant after going to UNC a few years ago. The pastaswere lovely (very small), but we won?t be returning for weirdly overpriced cocktails, small portions, and to have a grumpywaitress ruin a date with cold service. Read more

The restaurant itself is lovely and has a pleasant atmosphere. We were seated at a nice window table with fresh flowers. The... service was decent. Our server was a little slow between check-ins and forgot flatware and a few details of our order. Nothingnecessarily bad and he was still polite and friendly. The food was good. I had the mini biscuits which were delicious! Lovedthem so much. Flakey and rich and savoury. The other meal items were good. I also had the shrimp, for which the breading wasincredible. Perfectly seasoned, but the shrimp itself was over cooked (a little rubbery). The sauce and seasoning made up forit! Yum. I wasn?t crazy about the duck, and the dessert was good but the flavor was a bit off for me. Might just be personalpreference. Overall, I spent about $100 for two people which is fair and expected (no alcoholic drinks). I plan to return totry other menu items, as I?m sure the other dishes are good and worth trying. Will update my review at that time. Read more

The service is of course perfect, and the ambiance is very nice. We had the cheese plate, which was lovely. My son had the... ravioli and loved it. I had the soft-shell crab and thought it should have been crispy rather than soggy as it wasunfortunately. I had the flounder and felt I could have made it at home. We had the cheesecake and the chocolate for dessertand both were absolutely delicious. We'll be back. Read more

We went to Oakleaf to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and are so glad we did! We were planning on ordering the chef?s... spontaneous tasting menu. It was graduation and Mother?s Day weekend, and it turned out the chef had taken the tasting optionoff the dinner menu since it was going to be so busy?but he made it for us for the occasion! Very kind and not at all expected. But we are so glad he did because it was absolutely delicious. It included 5 courses and 3 mini-courses and we got to tryhomemade ravioli, duck, and steak, among other things. Everything was cooked perfectly and beautifully presented. They sent outa candle and a little note with dessert, which was a thoughtful touch. We will definitely be back?soon! The one thing I noticedthat could be improved is the ability to make instant online reservations, like through Resy or OpenTable or a similar software.Right now you fill out a form and then they get back to you via email to let you know if they have the time you want available.
