I found out that they changed ownership and was a bit nervous. We started with Coconut Soup, it was truly amazing. Creamy and... rich, we each had a decent size serving and still had some left. Next we had Pad se ew with beef, Hawaiian fried rice, and Praram with shrimp. Each dish was delicious and so many left overs. It was my birthday so we had to have desert, we had the Friedbanana with coconut ice cream. The ice cream was so creamy, the coconut flavor very rich. It tasted so fresh, natural homemadeflavor (bananas were pretty good, but easily could be left off). I love my ice cream... This one is my new favorite! Read more
This was my 1st time eating Here I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED!. This place is so cute! It's very welcoming ( AND SO CLEAN) when you... walk in. The decor definitely gets you in the mood for some of the most delicious food! And bring a big appetite! These portions(at least for all the items ordered at the table) were generous! There's no skimping here! The food is absolutely delicious andsuper fresh! I was really impressed! To top it all off the staff were so friendly and attentive . You feel welcome from start tofinish. After 8 years, I got the opportunity to... come to Carson city again and visited this restaurant twice last week and I must say the food is delicious and one of the bestThai places I have been to. The food here is pretty good, the decor is beautiful, and it's in a nice downtown location. As with most Thai restaurants, I... have a favorite. It is either Pad Thai or Pad See Eew. Today I couldn't remember which I prefer, so I got both Chicken andShrimp Pad Thai (no green onions) and Chicken Pad See Eew, and my mom got Shrimp Pad Thai. Now I know which I prefer, it's PadSee Eew from The Basil. The Pad See Eew noodles are tender and delicious, and the chicken is too. The flavor is great, and theamount of meat, broccoli, and carrots is perfect. They don't skimp on meat or load it with veggies. When there are too manycarrots it seems like a filler to me. The Pad Thai is good, but the flavor is almost a little bit like ketchup, which is kind ofstrange. The chicken is delicious and tender, and the shrimp is deveined beautifully. Note: my Pad Thai, chicken and shrimp,came with lots of chicken and four shrimp. My mom's Pad Thai, shrimp, came with lots of shrimp and some tofu too. I've orderedthe mango roll in the past, but I probably wouldn't get it again. Too bad they don't have a Shrimp Spring Roll. The prices are adollar or two more than I would have expected, but I guess a downtown location has high rent. I would go here again. Edit: thecold, next day Pad Thai may have been even better than when it was fresh. Now I don't know which I prefer and I'm going to havea hard time choosing. Read more
Absolutely beautiful decor decorated by the owner herself. With the best tasting Thai food I have ever experienced! This is a... family owned restaurant who truly cares for their city and it?s people! Everything you experience here is full of love and carefor their guests coming to dine with them. They have the sweetest, most knowledgeable staff! A truly memorable experience! Wewill be definitely coming back to eat every time we come back to visit Carson City!
