Delicious shrimp & grits! This restaurant used to be a bank and you can still see one of the safes in the entrance. Good service... and we shared a slice of carrot cake to top off the meal. Large, moist slice. We'll be back again, next time we're in town. Read more
A very adorable and affordable little place to eat. We went for lunch. We got the Santa Fe Egg rolls which were delicious but we... expected more than just 3 rolls cut in half for the price ($9). I had the fish and chips and my fiancé had spaghetti bolognese.Both very good, although I wasn't a fan of the tartar sauce with my fish? too dill-y. I would go back again. Read more
My husband rated his a 3 and mine was a 4, but since I could not rate our food a 3 1/2, I gave it a 4. I bumped it up with... their customer service being EXCELLENT! We were traveling and called in an order with them being very busy at the time. Thewonderful person who answered the phone took the time to answer all my questions and was polite. They were VERY busy, but theonline menu was blurry and so we needed some help, she provided it. I had the non-traditional chicken salad sandwich on theirhomemade nut bread ???? and I would give it a 4. It was not the best I ever had, but it was very ? enjoyable and filling. Myhusband had the Rueben with sweet potato fries and he gave it a 3. He said it tasted average, but the corned beef was overcooked and dry. He was not crazy about the sweet potato fries, but he too thought the person who helped us, both on the phoneand inside, was incredible. I recommend this establishment! I took my beautiful bride of almost 25 years to sample the local fare at the recommendation of... Lisa in the Driver's License office. As we walked in we were greeted by smiling faces and an almost packed front room. Weseated ourselves, as instructed. Our drink orders were taken almost immediately. It was chicken fried steak day! We bothordered the special, the chicken fried steak was served with white gravy; and was delicious. Crunchy and good flavor, thecoating stuck. The gravy was tasty. The green beans had excellent flavor, but were overcooked. I thought the mashed potatoeswere so-so, but I like lumps in my potatoes. I had three deserts. Red velvet cake, carmel cheesecake, and carrots cake. I wasnot a fan of the red velvet, however the other two were excellent. We will be back. Read more
Had a yummy lunch here! Their Friday catfish was delicious, and the baked Brie was good too!
The waitstaff was very friendly and the food was excellent. We had chicken salad sandwich, grilled chicken avocado sandwich,... and a hamburger. All 3 of us enjoyed our meals. The building was a former bank location with an unusual vault on display. Read more
Chicken salad sandwich is good. The grilled chicken pita was OK. Service is lacking however. Very unfriendly. We did not feel... welcome here. Workers do not practice safe distancing for their patrons. Everyone is jammed in together. Workers do not wearmasks or gloves. I saw waitress wiping down table without any kind of disinfectant. And then she just put it on top of the bar.Then she grabbed it again and wiped the next table! I was quite shocked. We will never be returning here with that kind ofcarelessness! That is a sure way to create a pandemic right there in your own home town of Carthage. Thank God we were justpassing through. Complete and utterly shocking!!! Read more
I've tried to respect this as a small business but now it's clear they don't know how to run a small business. Their hours are... willy nilly, sometimes they'll be open when their signs say they are, but most times they won't be. Most recently they posted onFB that they would be there today til 3, swung by around 1245 and they had a sign up said they went to a wedding...then why postyou were going to be there?! It's now apparent they don't respect their customers. I've spoken to other ppl who go there andthey all have the same complaints. Some of their food is good, the chicken always has burnt flecks on it. And sometimes themeals are just random, you order one thing and they'll bring you some smorgasbord variation of it, with no explanation. Evenweirder is the simple fact they don't have chicken tenders for kids. Lol, that's definitely a footnote but I find it odd as theonly place that don't offer them. Read more
