Beds are very soft and I had a great view of the mountains from my room.

This is a lower budget option. Older two story walkup brick building from many years ago. The lobby is pretty bare bones and... worn. the rooms are older and eclectic shall we say but signs of being refurbished Kindle . Good points..room was clean, waterpressure was fine, internet was functional. No coffee or fridge which I suspect is due to the old electrical service. Inter roomnoise a bit loud and the hallways etc need a refurb but it looks like the owner is working on it. They have a small roomavailable for breakfast with some basic stuff and a kettle and toaster. Read more

My wife and I stayed at the Chameleon for 4 nights while vacationing in and around Castlegar. The hotel was very comfortable and... in a nice part of town. The room was spacious and very clean. The owners are exceptional people and enjoyed their company andappreciated their assistance. The meals at the restaurant were excellent. Will return for another visit. Read more

Just what we needed on our bike tour - clean room, very reasonable rates, a place for our bicycles and a nice breakfast!... Incredibly friendly staff, loved getting to support a local business! Read more

I would give zero stars if I could. This place is so trashy. $216 for 2 nights, PLUS a $250 (damage deposit). Exposed copper... piping in rooms, rusty dangerous heater vents that are open. Half our room didn't have power, AS WELL AS we had no heat!Pictures on the website DO NOT look like the rooms at all. She told us she couldn't refund us for the night because of Expediapolicy. when we told her we had no heat and wanted our money back and we're going to find a suitable room somewhere else, sheall of the sudden could give us a full refund. To top it all off, she DID NOT actually refund the money for the 2 nights weDIDNT EVEN STAY THERE! Read more

My boss booked this hotel for me as a stop over for work. I have to say, even though the building is old, the room that I had... was quite charming. Had kind of a homely feel. Unlike those large cookie cutter hotel chains. Rooms were clean, receptionist wasfriendly. Would stay here again in a heartbeat Read more

Normally I don't give negative reviews. I stayed there 3 weeks. Cleaning lady was in my room maybe twice. It's an old run down... building that has squiky floors, stinky hallways and absolutely insane prices for what they offer (93$ for 1 night!!) It wasadvertised as a 2 star hotel... I'm struggling to give it a 1 star. Never again I would stay there. An absolute @#$& hole. Read more
