One of our favorite restaurants to go to before/after going to the beach. 100% get the artichoke cupcake. Surprisingly... delicious. Of course, the deep fried artichoke appetizer is a must have each visit. For the meals, the portions are large andare beautifully presented with lots of flavor and color. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing??, it was greasy and heavy and I don't ever want to eat an artichoke again. The sampler platter... was either deep fried, involved a mayonnaise based dip or canned nacho cheese. The roasted artichoke even seemed deep fried andall that gross chipotle sauce on it! ???? $30+ for this? The men's bathroom smelled horrible. I've been stopping by for YEAR'S now. Whenever we are in town to visit family in San Juan Baptist, we end up on an outing to... Monterey as a family. The Giant Artichoke is ALWAYS a pit stop we make! We arrived shortly before closing and had a delicious dinner!! Anything you can imagine had artichoke in it- I even had a... wonderful Artichoke Tea! However; the grilled artichoke cannot be beat. Parking was ample and we got some good kitchy pictureswith the giant artichoke! Read more

If you're not a huge... fan, don't despair - there's plenty of non artichoke and "artichoke light" options. Service was amazing. Would highly recommendif you're in the area. This might be one of my favourite restaurants ever. Unpretentious and specialising in my favourite vegetable - artichokes! (The... clue is in the name lol) Deep fried, baked, steamed - you name it, they had Ian artichoke version. The server was superhelpful and the most friendly guy. What is not what to love?? I was recently in the area for a wedding and some family members and I had to stop here even though we literally on our way to... dinner because the food is so good.
