You should get the lobster or crab salad in a tomato. Huge portions and so delicious!

Upon arriving at the Chart Room we were greeted by a crowd of people that were spread across many different areas. They have a... very large outdoor seating area overlooking the boat yard with a walk-up bar window so people could enjoy a drink while watchingthe sunset. The restaurant itself has indoor and covered outdoor seating that also overlooks the boat yard. We were seatedinside and I ordered the clam chowder and the prime rib (available Thursday thru Saturday, and sometimes Sunday). The chowderwas excellent. A nice solid creamy body with a slight hint of sweetness that did not need any salt or crackers added to it. Theprime rib was very good as well, a very generous sized portion that was paired with the rice (versus baked potato) and vegetable(asparagus). All were cooked to perfection. Despite the large crowd that was at the restaurant there was a very organized chaosas the staff all seemed to work together very well together and we didn't wait long at all to be greeted, get our first round ofdrinks, appetizers, or food. The server, who's name I believed is Kalyn, was great. Despite being very busy and having a fullsection that was constantly turning over, she was very nice, answered all of our questions, and never made us feel rushed. Afterthe meal was over it was easy to see why there was such a throng of people. The view, the service, the food, and the ambiance(there was someone playing the piano but not in a way that would disturb your dining or make it hard to have a conversation)would all bring me back on their own but when you put them all together it becomes a must visit spot for newcomers and a popularhangout for the locals. The outside seating is lovely, where you get to watch the sunset. Considering how crowded it was, the service was really... excellent. The food was good, tasty, and well prepared, but I was disappointed with the menu selection. It was a bit pedestrian, very "average", and I expected more creativity in the menu. It was classic New England seafood... Scallops drowned in butterwith breadcrumbs, stuffed shrimp, assorted fish that was baked or broiled, crab cakes, lobster. Nothing you couldn't getanywhere else... Except for the gorgeous sunset, of course :-) Read more

The chart room has a nice atmosphere and has lots of indoor and outdoor seating. The problem is, I did not like the food we... ordered. We ordered clams casino, stuffed shrimp and a fish dish. All of them had the same heavy, bread crumb stuffing ortopping which did not taste good to me. The clams were way too oily. I think this restaurant needs some new recipes. Wait staffwas great. Took longer than expected to get our main courses. Read more

Great outside seating. Showed up at about 1pm on a nice day. Parking lot was just about full and a 20min wait for a table. Got... seated after about 10min wait. Bloody Mary was strong/good. Noshed on apps. Perfect afternoon destination. Wait staff was great. Read more

Beautiful location on the harbor, cool breeze blowing in from the water and awesome piano player setting the ambiance. Our... server was very sweet but was in the weeds and struggled to manage our two tables of five. Drinks came out sporadically and anentree was forgotten so everyone ate at different times. No kids menu which only meant lots of leftover food and a higher thannecessary bill. We had a few apps (Fish tacos were delicious with a little kick, chowder was very sweet-not a fan favorite forour chowder connoisseurs, Caesar salad was good, steamers were great, shrimp were good but were lukewarm) and then as theentrees rolled out we were unimpressed. Halibut special was dry and sitting in a pesto soup. We had to ask for the starch fortwo entrees which were forgotten and the summer vegetable on the side was turnip...pretty sure mashed turnip is a wintervegetable. Swordfish was bland, baked stuffed shrimp was heavy and greasy. Sirloin steak was under cooked (we know how to ordersteak so don't worry) and the baked lobster was good (when it finally came out). We ordered dessert and Ice cream for the kidswhich was good (cheesecake and Brownie a la mode are a must have) but overall, for the price, the food has GOT to be better andthe server needs more support. We wanted this to become a favorite destination but we won't be back especially when we can getmuch better food for half the price! Read more
