Great BBQ joint and I spent years in the south! I have also been smoking meat for just over 10 years. This is a 5 star bbq... restaurant. The inside is beautiful perfect for a family night out. The staff are always kind (Chick-fil-A kind!!) There is astore downstairs that has excellent local produce, bakery goods and wine. As for the food my favorites include the chicken(smoked as legs or pulled) and the brisket. I've tried everything but the ribs! Their pitmaster uses quality meats aswell. Something they are doing more often is specialty items and we love them. I recommend anyone passing through even if youare on I-80 , it's worth the short drive. Read more
Stopped here during a 3 hour drive between campsites after searching for "outdoor restaraunt" along our route since our dog was... with us. So glad we stopped here. Fantastic food, picnic tables outside with beautiful scenery, plus a general store andwinery in the same building. The brisket was spot on and that's always my go to. Everyone inside was friendly as well. Iwould have taken a picture of the food but I ate it too fast. Worth a detour if you're in the area for sure. Read more
My husband and I came here for the first time today and it was absolutely amazing! We ordered brisket nachos and a junior... sampler. The meat's we're so juicy and flavorful that you really don't need any sauce on them. We're from the south and haveeaten BBQ from many places and you are in the top best! We will definitely be back! Our daughter booked Big Dan's BBQ for her wedding next fall. My husband and I had never been there before so we decided we... had better go check out this amazing food if it was so yummy that she wanted it for her wedding. It did not disappoint. Weordered samplers so we could try a little of everything. The food was DELICIOUS! We most definitely were happy with our mealsand decided to book Big Dan's for our upcoming class reunion. Amazing local BBQ restaurant. We came here after visiting Knoebels. They were out of their pulled chicken so I got the pulled... pork. I should have ordered 1/2lb of it instead of the tiny 1/4lb of pork because that was the best thing! The pork was moist,flavorful, and honestly mouth watering because it smelled so good! Their Mac and cheese was over cooked. The cheese looked andtasted curdled. Otherwise the other sides like the coleslaw and corn bread were delicious. Loved the plain BBQ sauce! Read more
Great local hometown BBQ and Farmers market The Establishment is clean and well kept and will definitely bring you back to to a... period of time when things were simpler and family was cherished. When you enter the restaurant either through the back orthrough the farmers market you will begin to notice that you are immersed in a turn of the century Barn different settinglocations one up in the old hayloft and the other on the main floor there are also games located up in the old hayloft such ascheckers, darts and cornhole with apple seating that well kept clean picnic tables. The food was well prepared and deliciousthe children love the macaroni and cheese and the nachos were smothered with flavor I highly recommend anything off of theirmenu they also have gourmet fountain soda. 5 stars isn't enough! We booked catering for our wedding... a little last minute. We called Big Dan's after a google search.... Initially when we called John thought they wouldn't be able to provide food for us since we were asking about a very busy time(Saturday in October). Without even knowing that this was for a wedding John called us back saying that they really wanted tomake something work for us. We were able to go in and taste the food. Everything was delicious, and the staff in the restaurantwas very kind. Everything looked clean and well maintained. After our first calls with John and the food tasting we wereSOLD. Throughout the ordering/planning processes John was available via phone and email with timely, friendly, and helpfulresponses. Pricing was nearly half the price of other quotes we'd received for BBQ elsewhere. Our guests raved about the food,especially the corn bread. We felt like Big Dan's BBQ (especially John, whom we primarily dealt with) went above and beyond tomake this process easy for us. It made our special day that much better! Would definitely recommend them, and we will definitelymake the drive there for dinners in the future! Read more
