This was our first time shopping at Brown Butter Cookie Company. It is a convenient location in downtown Cayucas. There is... parking in front of the store and across the street. No masks are required. The gals upfront were very friendly, cheerful andhelpful. Daphne at the order counter was excellent. She answered our questions. Placed our selections very carefully into thecellophane bag. The cookies look so yummy. Farron the cashier was excellent as well. It was very unusual to see ladies in backof the cashier at tables hand rolling the cookie dough into balls. Gives it a special touch. Read more
The people that don?t get it, just don?t get it. That?s pretty clear with some of these reviews. My boyfriend said we had to... stop here on our road trip because the cookies were that good. I was surprised we were making a stop just for cookies. They werehonestly the best cookies I?ve had. Bought extra to take home for myself and friends and I already want to go back. it?s like $7for 6 cookies, that?s a little more than a dollar a cookie. The hype over this place is understandable--delicious cookies with bold and uncommon flavors. Samples will spare you from any... guesswork, which is great because they're not cheap. Lemon Sugar and Original Sea Salt are my favs, but Espresso andgluten-free Mint Chocolate were close. Packages range from 3-piece single flavors to variety samplers, so they make greatgifts. The staff is also among the friendliest in town. Definitely worth stopping by. Read more
The nice lady at the counter offered us a sample even though I was already picking out my order. This was a very great touch.... After she rang my order, she asked if I wanted anything else. I replied, ?The million dollar recipe.? She giggled as though Iwas kidding. Sadly, I walked with only my cookies. Happy that she didn?t charge me a million for the joke that fell flat. Read more
After my Big Sur trip, I was making my way down the 1 to Socal. Morro Bay was my next stop. I always love checking out small... towns along the way and came across the Brown Butter Cookie Company. It was a walk up order at the corner of the street. Easyand simple menu. I got an order of the cookie tower which included a chocolate chunk, oatmeal raisin, lemon sugar, snickerdoodles and 3 of their brown butter sea salt cookies. I wanted to try a little bit of everything they had to offer. In myopinion, the cookies didn't stand out. The original had a sandy texture. I come from a baking background and tried countlesscookie boxes from the bay. Unfortunately these don't compare. Conceptually, it is a nice gift to try multiple different cookiesbut it didn't feel worth the $15. Make sure you try their samples! I was only able to try it after I paid. Read more
The cookies are so yum. They melt in your mouth and are full of flavor. It's in a great location within walking distance of the... beach. It was fast and easy. We bought the cookie tower which had 4 different types of cookies: chocolate chunk, oatmeal raisin,snickerdoodle, and sugar. It also included 3 or 4 of their signature brown butter cookies and cocoa. A friend brought me a bag of brown butter sea salt cookies (pecan) from their trip to Cayucos and it was love at first bite!... Exquisitely delicious and the texture reminded me of my mom?s shortbread biscuit/cookie recipe growing up. I knew this would bea favorite so I immediately went online to get more. Gleefully cheered when I received my order and they came delicatelypackaged in beautiful boxes, which is perfect for gifting too! Definitely stopping by their shop when I?m in the central coast.
