For a bit now I've been visiting Salt City Cafe for a coffee after work. I noticed they had these huge almond croissants for... sale. I finally broke down and bought one....bad idea lol now I got back and 9/10 they are sold out. I have the inside scoopthat someone comes in and buys them all in the morning. But it's a great thing because lord help me and my waste line if Imanaged to get more then one. Croissants take time and I appreciate your time, love and talent. Read more

Drove 45 minutes to eat here for the first time, tried calling prior to make sure they were open but no answer so we chanced it.... We arrived, they were open but claimed they just stopped serving breakfast that due to some issue. So we were going to gosomewhere else and get breakfast and come back to get pastries then the woman stated their hours changed too and they?d beclosing at 12.. so we got several pastries and took them to go. When we got home we tried them. And honestly, I don?t know whatthe hype is. The cinnamon roll was hard, the raspberry muffin wasn?t bad, the blueberry crescent thing was ok at best, the handpie was ok, the filling was fine but the crust was very soft and I didn?t care for it. And it all came to $30. I wouldn?treturn. Read more

Eating a berry Danish at The Toast is a lot like falling in love with your soul mate. It's not just any love, it's the right... one. The one that makes you realize you've been consuming ash and cardboard your entire life when the explosion of freshraspberries and perfectly flaky and tender crust hit your senses. You've even had a great raspberry before, but why can't youfind the gorgeous cream filling? Or a pastry your mother would be proud of? You deserve that don't you? And then there it is. Ajewel in the case. For a few dollars, you get to experience the level of validation that says you're really special and yes, youshould have the best. Eat this with people you truly care about. Eat this in front of people you hate. Just don't buy it untilafter I get mine. Read more

?Wanna be country pumpkin? is the most I?ll say about this place. Dirty. Tiny. Not a cozy atmosphere at all. Prices are like at... a 5 star restaurant but the food and decor is like of a simple diner. One star goes for a good coffee (which was much betterthan at a diner). Food didn?t taste bad but it was delivered cold and my over-easy eggs were overcooked. One egg was completelysolid. My kids? scramble eggs were undercooked so the youngsters didn?t even touch those. I didn?t hear anyone cold pressingthe juice. Maybe it was cold pressed but maybe it was not. Other places do that right in front of you, but not at this place. For $6 per glass it should?ve been pressed on the spot. The place falls waaaay short for how much they charge. $90 for 4 simplemediocre breakfasts is a TOTAL ripoff. Will never come there again for anything but coffee. Read more

Decided to take my son to breakfast this morning and so I thought I would try The Toast since I had never been there before.... Parking was easy and the place was all but empty. The girls at the front were super nice, helpful in answering some questions Ihad, and we ordered our food. I have to say there was no real option for children and so I spent quite a bit of money for anadult portion meal for a 5-year-old child and there weren't really any options that were child appropriate but thankfully helikes adult food too. We sat down and waited quite a while for our food to come out and at some point I thought this better beworth it for the wait but when the food came out I realized it was definitely worth the wait. Our food was excellent, and I meanexcellent. I had a goat cheese, apple and sausage sandwich on a croissant which was heavenly and my son had french toast which Itried also and it was very good, beautiful presentation, albeit a little bit dry, but of little matter once you put maple syrupon it. My son needed to use the restroom, and I found it a little odd that they had extra tables stacked in there - I found thatkind of off-putting and maybe prevent someone with a wheelchair from being able to truly access it easily so I would say theyprobably need to find somewhere else to store those, but the bathroom was very clean and easy to find. I also really liked howthey have art for sale in there and it was on the wall in the bathroom and up front by the registers. I almost missed thatactually because it's so low on the wall in front of the registers - they could probably put it on The Big empty wall by thelarge party table, but nonetheless I really like the idea of selling local art if it is indeed local. Overall I would say reallygood food and I can't wait to try some of their pastries someday. I don't think it's a place I would go to often with my son forbreakfast just because of the price points being so high (almost $40 for breakfast) and not ha Read more

There's no better sign that something is going to be good than when people are willing to wait for it and when we got here the... line was out the door! Very cool environment, a little bit of old and new all wrapped up in one. The menu must be constantlychanging as it is rolled out on a big roll of brown paper that can be cut off and occasionally rewritten. We got some croissantsandwiches which were all super delicious and for the number of patrons who ordered before us they can really chug out theorders as we didn't have wait very long. Would come here again and recommend to others. Read more
