Wish I could give this place 4.5 stars. Not quite 5(perfect) but I would recommend this place and go back again. The salad was... very good but it came as giant leaves. While flavorsome, it was a challenge to eat (i.e. on a date, be wary). As for the burgerand fries, the fries may have been some of the best I’ve ever had. Seriously good job guys! The burger was good except thebun. I was not a fan at all. It was very try and overcasted the meat, cheese and toppings which were quite good. Some of theirmenu was not available for lunch which was a disappointment, but overall a good experience. Suggestion, change your bun or atleast offer options upfront to different buns, and let your guest know immediately about choice items not being available, notwhen they order. Read more
George's Local was recommended to me by a co-worker and I finally got around to trying it. Tried the beast burger and shrimp... ceviche. I would recommend this shrimp ceviche to anyone who loves shrimp and pineapple! Everything was delicious. We enjoyedour outdoor seating on the patio. Read more
The atmosphere here is amazing and it is only topped by the food and drinks. You can tell that they take pride in what they do.... I had the fish and chips and it might have been the best I've had. Another person got the buffalo mac and cheese and it wasspicy but not too hot and the noodles were a perfect al dente.the third person got the pepperoni flatbread and it also hadbeautifully balanced flavor. The drinks pictured are the frozen Fitzgerald (alcoholic) and the other is their mocktail of theday (a blackberry lavender sour) and they were both extremely delicious. They have a high price point, but once you are thereit is easy to see why. The building is beautiful and the food was divine. Our server, Sydney, was so personable and friendlyand checked on us frequently enough that we were well attended to but not so much that it was too much. We were there right at11 and they weren't super busy so I'm sure that helped but even as it began to fill up she was wonderful. I HIGHLY recommendtrying this restaurant at least once. Read more
George’s Local is such a great addition to Cedar Falls Main Street! Elevated American food and the best cocktails. Service is... always excellent, and nothing beats the outdoor patio and fireplaces. Definitely try it out this summer! If you can get Daltonas a server, he’s the best! Read more
We stopped here for lunch and got the brussel sprouts for an appetizer. I ordered the Cobb salad and my friend ordered the house... flatbread. Initially the experience started out very good. The waitress was nice, took our drink order. However, from there, itstarted to go downhill. The waitress took our appetizer order, then proceeded to ask us how the Brussels were 30 seconds afterthey came to the table. We then ordered our entrees. Again, she asked how our food was 30 seconds after our food came. I hadrequested an extra side of ranch for my salad as the one that came with it was very small for a full size salad. It never cameand the waitress stopped coming to check on us . After about 15 minutes of waiting, we starting trying to flag down our waitresswith very little success. It took us about 7 minutes to finally get her attention. I waited another 10 minutes for the side ofranch. She only asked about drinks once and only refilled out water once, when requested it and only my friends water as she wasthe one that asked. And just as reference, the waitress only had 6 tables, all with 2 people so it wasn't like she was slammedbusy. The brussels were good, with just a bit of heat. The flatbread was mediocre at best. It looked like frozen preformeddough, tiny amount of sauce and looked like cheese slices on the top. The salad was good sized but the crispy chicken was sparseand very dry. It looked like it had been sitting under a heat lamp all day. The cucumber slices were so thin you could literallysee through them. The other toppings were sparse as well. Overall, I was not, sm not impressed with this place. The service waspoor, the food was mediocre at best, and the drinks overpriced for what you get. I don't mind paying 10 bucks for a margaritabut expect more than an 8 or 10 ounce glass full of ice. Great food, great service, great environment. Love the outdoor seating, love the bar area. Food is very tasty and almost... high-end but not priced at a high end level. Can't wait to go back and try more items off the menu. If you have not been herethis is a must try in the area.
