On The Border is one of my favorite restaurants. I have been going to the Irving and Arlington locations for years. This was my... first time coming to the Cedar Hill spot, and it was such a great experience! The place looked lovely and neat. There was nowaiting line, and the waiter was extremely friendly and efficient. The food was fantastic, and the presentation was terrific! On the border is new to area and they sent coupons. There was a 30 minute wait for a table. Have been to an OTB in the past so... taste expectations were not great. Food is ok, service was good. There was an issue with the coupon and the manager fixed it.When you go understand food is not authentic Mexican. Has real American twist. I would say the food is like fast food. My family took me to this restaurant for my Birthday. We arrived on a weekday around 5 pm. The hostesses offered us seating in... the bar. They claimed they did not have waitresses on duty in restaurant area to serve us. During our entire visit we wereconstantly and I mean constantly fanning away flies or gnats. We actually had to cover our food with napkins. Take a bite,recover. It was disgusting! Our waitress was pleasant and consistent. The food, in and of itself was hot and looked appealingand actually tasted good. I was just worried that if we we so inundated with insects, what must the kitchen be like. Will Ireturn? Not likely. Have absolutely ZERO expectations of good or even slightly decent service when dining here. I am certain Taco Bell across the... highway would be more accommodating.\n\nLet?s start with the absolute slowest and unwelcoming greet I received after sitting atthe bar over 5 minutes. When Amber finally took my order she asked if I was ready to order; after so much time waiting I was.She then told Robert (the other bartender) my order so he could place it. I only ordered a SALAD. I go on to say my food never came out and I had been waiting an hour. The manager clears the entire tab and lets Robert keep theEXACT change from my drink as his tip. (see attached pic) I asked for more and was brought 3 EXTREMELY THIN SLICES of avocado ? Even theserver was mortified ?.I used a $10 Welcome coupon and thank god I did ? Our waiter was the bartender name Isiah. We sat out on the patio and enjoyed ourselves. The team did a good job. There only con... to sitting outside was the ants, but hey it is outside were food is dropped. The food was good. We had chicken and cheesequesadillas and chicken strips.
