I finally tried this place after living in Cedar Park, I regret it. The place was dirty, fingerprints all over the front doors,... a full ashtray right outside the door you get to look at before walking in, it was like living out a Kitchen Nightmare episode.I bought multiple things to be able to try out, opening the box kinda smelled of cigarette smoke but maybe it was justme. Chicken - I think they gave me turkey and it was so dry, so dry it was hard. I cannot stress enough how dry itwas. Brisket - Dry, dry, dry Mashed potatoes/fried okra - Literally no seasoning what so ever, no salt, no pepper,nothing. French fries - Soggy, taste like cooked in old oil. Mac n cheese - Good God, this monstrosity. It tasted so bad, liketoo much flour in it mixed with generic brand Velveeta. Pasta way over done and mushy. Sausage - Sausage was pretty good, theonly thing I ended up eating. I feel bad writing this but Lord, I regret spending any kind of money on this food. Go to StilesSwitch right down the road. 9-19-22 about 4:30pm: Friendly service. CFS was meh/ok. Meat was a bit tough but crust was good. Meat slide right out of the... crust. Mashed potatoes, green beans, pinto beans were ok. Mac and cheese was good. Brisket was very good and moist. Not much ofbbq flavor or smoky but was best part of the meal. Average ok meal. Read more

It was good but not exceptional. Brisket was about average, the beef rib was a spare rib so no alot of meat. Their beans better... than most I have had. Read more
If you like really good, stick-to-your-ribs eats at a fair price, Then J&J BBQ & Burgers is probably your kind of place! I've... eaten here several times, and have always had a great experience. The only item that I've had that doesn't quite make it is thehome fries. They aren't BAD, it's just that they lack the flavor of a lot of the home fries I've had in my time on thisplanet. Went for the Biscuits & Gravy but they were out! Went too late apparently. Was hoping for a very late breakfast (1:30pm) after... a late night. Found out after we got there that you have to get there before 11am if you want biscuits...guess they're popular. As for the meal, we ordered a Brisket Omelet Plate, 2 Sausage and Egg Tacos, 1 Brisket and Egg Taco, and the Chicken Tenderplate. First of all, the tacos are massive! One tortilla with enough stuff for 3 tacos. The Brisket Omelet was pretty goodbut the family reported that the breakfast tacos were ok...huge but just ok. They've had better breakfast tacos at Rudy's,Donut Taco Palace of Round Rock and Taco Cabana. Nobody beats the size of J&J's Tacos though. The refried beans were decent. The fries were underdone...needed a few more minutes in the fryer to give them a nice crisp. My teenage daughter loved theChicken Tenders with Mac & Cheese. She said both were excellent. Tenders were large fried chicken strips - hot and juicy. Mac& Cheese was not out of the box...home made and not too cheesy. Haven't had their Brisket Plate so I can't really rate themfrom that perspective. Go if you have hungry folks that like big portions in a down-home counter-serve super casual setting. I've had their barbecue before and it's really good this is my first time trying their fried chicken and I have to say this is... some of the best fried chicken I've ever had in my life. Honestly it tastes very much like what my mom and grandmother used tomake. The chicken itself is extremely crispy and the meat was flavorful well spiced and juicy. First time for breakfast, and was not impressed with the food. No Cilantro or avocado. Eggs overcooked in the breakfast taco... or had been precooked and past their time. This is a barbeque establishment, so maybe my expectations for Mexican food are toohigh. The service was great, plenty of room to sit. Will not return for breakfast but definitely will return for lunch ordinner. Read more
