Ambiance was great. Restaurant was clean. Everyone working was super friendly! They went above and beyond! A lot of good craft... beers. A ton of BIG GROVE beer! We weren?t going to eat but decided to share the boneless wings in the buffalo sauce. They weredone to perfection! They were definitely homemade and so juicy and tender. The breading was lighter. I visited on Friday 11/4 and the manager, Steve, was the nicest guy ever!! He was able to get us a table for 7 quick! Our server... was Jaia and even on a busy Friday (where there were multiple tables of up to 17 people!!!) was attentive, friendly, quick andjust charming. So sad I live in MI and don?t visit often. Any reasonable human could not leave this establishment anything less than 4 stars. The staff at Barrel House are incredibly... accommodating even in the busiest of times. Shawn, the manager, knows his stuff and is nothing if not personable! Beyond theservice, the food is astounding. Plenty of options to choose from, and I doubt you could choose wrong. Atmosphere is pleasant,music choice is great, TVs have something for everyone. Lastly, I get the feeling that every person working here is a delight toconverse with. Great location & atmosphere! Inside is a warm and industrial feeling, a great place for a friend night or a date with the... significant other. Many local beers on tap. I had the portobello mushroom sandwich which had swiss cheese, pesto & pickledcucumber and onion..of course side dish was the sweet potato waffle fries and marshmallow sauce. Yum! The sandwich overall wasvery good, could take away a little of the pesto as it became a little soggy. However the fries were on ????. The waitress wasphenomenal...we had talked about her being only 38 days away from delivering and she walked around the place like she owned it,very impressed with her personality and customer service. If I could give zero stars I would. ????Horrible inept service; zero continuity among entire staff! The 1st server rushed us... ordering with zero customer service skills?took our orders writing nothing down; ironically, he passed us off to anotherserver?!. Why?!. Did he forget everything because the 2nd server has to completely retake our order!???? (2nd server was nice &accommodating) Eventually?3x to get order correct; Chicken breast had disgusting gristle?lettuce ???? was soft/hot anddisgusting!???? (There was another dressing under my salad that was not ordered)???? ????The ONLY reason we are coming back wasthe GM gave us a gift card. ????The PICTURE says it all? Barrel House downtown Cedar Rapids took great care of us! They were busy and short on staff. They staff was hustling and doing... their best to minimize our waits. Nicole was so nice and helpful! Our food was great and they even took care of our app sincethey felt we waited too long! The GM personally made sure we had a good experience!! Great people make a difference, we will forsure be back! Highly recommend this place for food, drinks, atmosphere and service!! Read more
Had a wonderful lunch here recently! Candice, our waitress was exceptional! I got the Cajun Jack Chicken Sandwich and it was... massive and delicious. Food came fast, quality was great, was very reasonably priced, service was fantastic, and the vibe of theestablishment was perfect for a nice place to grab some food and catch up with a friend.
