Do yourself a favor and skip this specific Chili?s. This place has gone downhill hard and fast. The food was salty to the gills.... The chili was so over seasoned I spat out the first bite and could smell the salt on the ?steamed? broccoli. I typically love the lunch special with the chicken, avocado tex mex salad. I called in but couldn't look at the menu at the... time because I was driving. It was 3:15pm, still within the lunch time and described the chicken avocado salad I wanted with theenchilada soup. This is what I remembered having every time. The lady on the phone said we don't have that on the lunch menu butyou can order it separately. She quoted me literally TWICE the price for the soup and the salad. I didn't want to pay that muchbut still wanted the salad so I said okay, I'll pay $3 more for just the salad cause I was starved. When I arrived, I took themenu and showed the cashier the exact combo on the LUNCH menu and explained this is exactly what I was asking for on the phone,but instead was told they don't have it and tried to upsell me HALF the food for twice the price. The manager came and made thenew order for me. Had to wait much longer, as they started to prep the food on the spot and I was in a rush to leave. Wonderedif there can be some training for people to answer the phone in Cedar Rapids location to at least learn the 20 or so items onthe menu, or at least know how to read. Especially when the customer is describing in detail what they want and telling them thelocation on the menu (lunch menu- which had only 6 items or so). Curb your expectations. This is NOT like any other, more reputable Chili's. Several things wrong with my to-go order. Alex... burger was missing two ingredients and patty, ordered pink, was over done. Fiance's streak, ordered medium, was rare. Asparagus,not trimmed, included inedible woody stems. Read more
Food was great as always. There was a 30 minute wait which was fine it was a Saturday. I love Chilis and go whenever we see one... on a road trip as I am not near one. HOWEVER the place was understaffed and messy. From our table, the windows, the floor, othertables, flies buzzing around. The table pictured was left like that the entire time we ate there. The person greeting could havedone some cleaning instead of just standing there. Love Chilis but wont be back to this one. Read more
