I came with my family and it was a loud but fun environment! The kids were entertained and the ambiance was fun! We got the... catfish platter, buffalo chicken, and kid's hot dog meal. It came out fast and was ALL delicious! The hand-cut fries tastedamazing! The tap beer was cold and great and my Bloody Mary was a fun appetizer! All in all, 10/10. Will return. I have been to this establishment a few times over the years and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. This past Sunday I wanted to... try their brunch buffet because I?m always on the lookout for good breakfast options when I don?t feel like cooking. Iespecially wanted to try the biscuits and gravy. As someone who makes homemade biscuits and gravy, I was extremelydisappointed. The ?gravy? was more like flavored water with a few chunks of sausage and not what I would consider a traditionalhomemade gravy, the biscuits were just ok. As a height challenged individual I had a hard time reaching into the food warmersto get the food I wanted since they are sitting up on a bar and my arm kept touching the hot pan. I like crispy bacon but itwas a bit over cooked even for my liking. It didn?t seem like the warmers were being monitored closely enough because the eggswere empty when I got to them and they should be the easiest to keep full. Since the buffet is their only option on Sundaymorning, there really shouldn?t have been any excuse for items to be empty, especially since we were there at 11:00am. I hadlooked at the menu/ prices online and when I got my bill, the prices had increased but they hadn?t updated online. We looked atthe physical menu and the new prices were written in marker with old prices crossed out. Overall a very disappointingexperience. This is a place we always take our friends and family to. Although, the prices have recently increased and the portion sizes... have decreased... our appetizer was HALF the size it used to be. The service from the bartender was okay. He usually saysgood-bye to everyone but did not to us and also attended his "regulars" needs over ours. The amount of flies in there wasextremely annoying. I understand a few flies in a restaurant during an Iowa summer, but this was just too much. We still lovethis place very much, just need to find the correct day to go. Read more

Very interesting place. It?s like a themed place, hoax on Hill-Billy?s. The place is packed with odds and ends for decor,... maybe even a little overwhelming. It is maybe a little too ?rustic? if that makes sense? Our service was great and the foodwas really good and was homemade. I am sure they get a lot of travelers but it does keep a local flavor. Went with a group of 4 and we were seated immediately. Food was fantastic! Wish my stomach was bigger. Place has a great... atmosphere and friendly staff. They came and checked up on us multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed. I wouldhighly recommend their onion rings and pork tenderloin.
