We stopped here for a quick bite to eat. There was only one woman working, but she was able to take our order and have our food... out very quickly. She was super nice and accommodating. We ordered two sandwiches (barbeque and French Dip), and both werepretty good. French fries come in pretty large baskets, so they're good for sharing. Had the Iowa famous pork lion hand made sammich with fries. It's definitely a good hearty meal and for the cost well worth it! ... The staff was absolutely amazing and made a phenomenal burger for my pup. This place has a huge heart and good food. Read more
Friendly staff. Food was delicious! My husband is from Iowa and while driving thru we found this place. Our teens had the... burgers and they said they were really good. Pork tenderloins come in 2 sizes...and do not be fooled but the term "small"because its basically large and jumbo for sizes lol. Criss cut fries and tots were both awesome too. I had Hot Roast Beef sandwich it came with mashed potatoes. Hubby had the chicken fried steak that came with mash potatoes and... corn. The mashed potatoes were REAL not a dried mix. The bread is Texas bread. My hot roast beef sandwich was daily special -for under $8.00 I got the sandwich and a drink. That is a bargain. I do not know of any other place from the east coast to herethat has sandwiches for that price and a drink too. Also had the cheddar cheese bites they were great too. We come to CedarRapids once a year for the month of May to visit family. We will be back to Joensy's next year for sure. Thank you for greatfood at great prices. I really wanted to like this place....first time there after hearing a lot of great reviews about it. The service was great,... atmosphere...who cares(local food joint), the food itself... ordered a large pork tenderloin sandwich and chicken sandwich. Thechicken was beyond dry and chewy. The tenderloin while large didn't have a great flavor....the toppings were almost non-existentand the buns were stale. We may give it another try as a past restauranteur I know you can have bad days.
