Went here for a bite a beer and some talk with a friend. Nice place. Got there after happy hour and closed it down. I think they... closed about 9pm on a Friday but maybe pub not bar so closing earlier. Anyway liked the food. I had "The Grinder" I assume namedfor the sausage (ground) and ground beef. The sauce was very good. Smothered in melted cheese mmmm. I had the baked potato withbutter and sour cream. Also good. I had the 24oz Tip The Cow. Mmm nice and dark. That went well with the heavier meat andpotatoes. Friend had already eaten so he just had a creme brulee. First local restaurant my wife and I visited after moving to Cedar Rapids. We were so impressed with the service from every... staff member. Hostess was busy so the manager Sonja seated us. This was an absolutely perfect place for a fairly quiet, low stress date to try somewhere new. I was pleasantly surprised by... the home-cooked feeling when eating the brisket sandwich, which marked all of the boxes like tender and juicy. The bun was notsoggy at all, so I would give it a 9/10 for that alone. My girlfriend got the Mac and cheese which was great, but she liked,but I can't vouch since I didn't try it. But the 10/10 moment was when the caramel brulee came to the table and we got thesatisfying "crack" on the top, and it was a treat worth go again for. Definitely great to go on a Monday! Read more
