Took a potential client to Outback to have some drinks and we had a wonderful time! Our bartender Nikki was personable, a... delight to speak to, and so attentive to our needs. The staff at the front door was great! Super friendly, quick to greet us. Wait time was minimal... quoted 25 minutes for a... table, however, we were seated in less than 15 minutes! This Outback, located in front of the Dayton Mall, was Amazing!! Food, staff, cleanliness, etc. Went to lunch with my grandma,... son, and young cousin, and was exactly the way you'd expect a great dine-in lunch to be... our food was perfect...temperature,taste, and time it took to put order in and get it out. Our waiter, he was very tentative, friendly, and knowledgeable... ourdrinks were never empty, bread basket always full, and dirty dishes were cleared from the table in a timely and non rude manner.All the staff was friendly and helpful....they all worked well together with good teamwork. I have never had a good steak in my entire life. They've been seasoned well, but the taste of the meat and tenderness was... severely lacking so I've never thought of steak as a good food item. My husband brought me here to prove me wrong. So I orderedthe filet mignon, the best of the best in terms of tenderness and flavor (we were also splurging) and while I ordered mediumwell, unfortunately I got well done and very dry steak. But when I brought up my concerns to the staff, they were very kind andunderstanding and immediately took the steak to get a new one. While I waited, I ate the rest of the sides (a very delicioussweet potato, grilled shrimp, and asparagus). It wasn't long after that that they brought out not only a new steak, but freshnew sides as well (sans shrimp (darn!))! I was taken aback! I was only expecting a new steak! They waited with me as I checkedthe meat and while it was more on the medium side, the taste... Oh, the taste was HEAVENLY!! As I took each bite, it got betterand better. But I was so full on sides, that I couldn't finish my steak lol. But hey, I've got some sides to go home with it!All in all, the staff and chefs made my experience a wonderful one, thank you!! My food did NOT come as stated in the menu, it was just one chicken breast, cheese and lettuce. No bacon, onions, spicy diced... pickles or even honey mustard. When I question they about it they said because they were out of bacon...which still doesn'texplain why my sandwich was missing so much...I canceled my order and ate fries and my Cesarsalad..which was good. The bloomingonion was also good. The waitres was nice and attentive. My bf enjoyed his ribs and chicken meal but the rice the they offer asa side was trash! Outbacks mushroom appetizer is very good! Salads are fresh, crisp...variety of veges....beautiful red onions and breadcrumbs. ... Hubbys steak was good. I ate his coconut shrimps tho... ;) The new Shrimp dinner is a grilled shrimp. The spices were notsomething I enjoyed.... something I just do not like in it. The creamed spinach is yummy! So I reserved a time for 8:30pm tonight, I arrived 10 minutes early. Once I checked in with the host, she informed me it will be... about a 25-30 minute wait. So I was confused by that statement due to the online reservation I made. However it may have been infine print time is not guaranteed, therefore I didn?t get frustrated. I took a seat in the waiting area. While waiting a oldergentleman who had been waiting in the lobby before I arrived, asked the host about a table that was empty, and why were they notseating guest there. I?m not sure of the host response, however I heard the guy get loud and upset and began stating how long hehad been waiting. This customer left. So 20 minutes into me waiting. The host announced to all waiting, the waiting time wouldbe much longer then expected due to issues with kitchen equipment. After her statement she then began having a delightfulconversation with her co-worker who was at the front station as well. There was no sorry for you guys inconvenience or anything.Her attitude on arrival was horrible, she appears as if she hates dealing with customers. Why would you guys put her in thefront? She is the first contact with customers. So if your dealing with her and her bad attitude, then on top of that longerwait times, and kitchen malfunctions. That?s enough to cause someone to leave and never return. I am disgusted with tonight?sevent. I?ve been here several times and never had a problem with food or staff.
