I couldn?t have asked for a better experience. The food was amazing and very authentic. We sat outside and the weather was... perfect. We also got to meet and chat with the owner who couldn?t have been more nice. I read a few reviews before posting mineand want to address a few things I read. Their menu is smaller which I was pleased to see. To me a big menu says you don?tspecialize in anything and try to cater to everyone. When you do that you end up not catering to anyone. We ordered differentthings so we could try more of the menu. Everything we had was amazing. That?s the point of smaller menus. I also saw a badreview about the service. As I said before my experience was great but I know bad experiences can happen. I thanked the ownerfor taking time to chat with us and she mentioned that she would love feedback on the service next time we come, good or bad.That shows the owners care. So maybe be a little more understanding of that before leaving a bad review. Give them a chance tomake it right. I have no doubt this spot will do well. Listen! Hands down - this is the BEST authentic Mexican cuisine you will find in the Upstate, let alone Central! No shade... towards all the other [great] Mexican restaurants in the area, but The Mexican is the new standard. We were blown away by theauthenticity of their dishes. From the flavor, to the portions and the plating, The Mexican just earned another loyal customer.It?s a MUST try for any fan of Mexican cuisine. **Hidden Treasure** in downtown Central, SC. The Mexican is a MUST visit when in town. Thank you Marla for making our... experience here the best we have had at any Mexican restaurant!! The food was authentic, fresh and delicious! We started offwith made to order guacamole, which was amazing. The house made, hand cut chips were fresh and crispy. Easily some of the best Mexican food I've had outside of a homemade meal. The flavors are authentic, and the meat is juicy and... spiced to perfection. I had the quesabirrias tacos, and they were so good they literally could not stay on my plate. Theatmosphere is amazing. Outside seating is accompanied by a stage, a cozy garden-aesthetic, and some wooden tables and chairs.There are string lights and greenery everywhere. Truly another world.
