Came into the restraunt and was seated .. didnt even take our drink order.... but they took drink and food orders for 4 other... tables that came in after us.... worst service ever... and not the first time their service was this outrageous. Walked out andno one even bothered to ask us what was wrong ... when I saw the night manager at the desk I went back in and said you served 4tables that came in after us and her response was "Sorry I will talk to my staff" I said you saw us and ignored us as well...Truly awful... dont waste your time!!! Sat down and ordered. Shortly there after it got alittle busy. But four tables ordered after us got their food and left before... we got the food we ordered...and it was COLD. They did give us some money off the total. We got our food 1hour and 15 minutes later after we ordered. It was a breakfast for dinner night .....NOT HAPPY ABOUT THE WHOLE WAY IT WAS HANDLED!!!!! Great place to stop in for a bite to eat..great comfort food! Tots were the best I have had in a long time! Mostly, felt so... happy to support this establishment because of the nice owner. We were there for dinner and the prime rib sandwich was awesome but the shrimp and cod dinner was almost burnt. Went back for... lunch and the gravy was bad for the chicken fried chicken. The wait for lunch was 20 minutes after we were told they were goingto go get our food. Staff was friendly and the dinner staff was awesome. We will go back next time we are there. Read more
There are not a lot of options for food on 385. I was pleasantly surprised with this option. My family (3 total) needed lunch.... I got the buffet and didn't regret my choice. The potato salad was sweeter than I am used to but I got seconds. My familyopted for bfast items and they cleaned their plates. It was perfect portions at a decent price. Staff was friendly. Our waitress was overwhelmed and over apologetic. Our drinks came out about 25 minutes in and our food took about an hour before... we got it. One of the senior staff apologized and was very kind. I ordered the bourbon steak and it was very chewy and I couldnot get it chewed enough to swallow. I did enjoy my eggs, hashbrowns and toast. The iced coffee was amazing as well. Today, for the first time, I dined at the Country Kitchen Restaurant in Chadron, Nebraska. The interior is both grand in size... and a little church-like in nature. The design is light and airy, sufficient for a restaurant serving everyday fare to everydayfolk, off which I am one. If I was to voice one criticism it would be, the carpet was a tired, duller than dull shade of maroonthat did nothing to liven the place up and plenty to dampen any inkling of levity. My waitress was a Native lady. She had apleasant smile. Her greeting was warm and friendly; her service, professional and efficient. The menu is shockingly expansive.So much so that, God in Heaven, with all his complexities, would be confused by it and may even have a giggle at it...I did. Myassumption is (as nothing but would suffice), somewhere out back there is a large warehouse to hold all the necessaryfoodstuffs and the Head Chef, undoubtedly Michelin rated, as a lesser skilled phenom would not have the competency to tacklesuch a dossier. I decided (after fifteen minutes of mental twisting & recourse) not to go rogue and stick with the tried andtested, "Steak & Vegetables". As asked for, the steak was well-done and the vegetables, tender and to my satisfaction. My afterdinner "Milkshake" was creamy-hearty (just how I like it) and without complaint. This establishment, like the immediate area,is worth a return visit; although, I am not sure when I will be back in town to do so. The breakfast, I am assured, is thespecialty of the house and to be ordered on my second coming. It may be just the excuse I need.
