Very nice atmosphere and extremely friendly staff. Unfortunately the Gumbo was plain. You can fix it easily though, just add a... lot of salt and pepper. Like... a LOT. The cheese stick breading didn't taste good either and the cheese inside wasn't even hotenough. Read more

Came in to pickup a load of Sugar going up north and wanted some local seafood. Today's Ketch Seafood & Restaurant was awesome.... I ordered a side of Shrimp Ètouffèe with Jambalya and Boudin Balls. Rosie got the 1/2 & 1/2 plate; Soft Shell Crab andCatfish. The catfish was like butter...umm????. All in all the meals were excellent, flavor is on point and the portions leaveyou with no excuse to go away hungry. Now for the best part.. Service was remarkable. The two ladies that ran the front werebeyond professional, they were down right friendly, like I was in my home town Idaho friendly. Horrible horrible service. This place is going downhill might just be the last time I go in there. Seems like all new faces but... one lady not sure why shes still there she always seems to be the rudest one and then always has something smart to say to hercoworker if a tip isnt included on receipt she ever thought maybe I was going to leave a cash tip!! Nope not after that service.Being nice goes along way especially to us old folks. Dont know how to direct message but name on receipt is kala. Thank you forreaching out but that lady is something else so sorry you allow people like that to work there she wasnt just rude to me. I missthis one lady who worked there she always remembered my name and what i like but dont remember her name i havent seen her in afew months there. We are staying at St Bernard State Park ( we are from Gainesville Ga) .. ventured out to local restaurants. Visited this Gem... of a restaurant! I had Fried Oysters & Shrimp platter! Hubby had Oyster platter ! Let me say .. It Was Amazing !! Food was Hot! Service with a smile from ALL the people working there ! And prices are awesome too . We are coming back for a Po Boy!! Fresh seafood!! They have dine in, so we did...we arrived about 4:15. I got the grilled shrimp salad & hubs got the half & half... dinner with fried shrimp & catfish. He got a side salad, hush puppies & jambalaya (I took a bite, he's lucky I didn't takemore!). He said it was fresh, crispy & came out piping hot. It was a generous portion, so some came home for leftovers. Theshrimp salad was a bed of chopped iceberg lettuce topped with the most tender, fresh grilled shrimp! Oh, yeah, some shreddedcheese on top. It was a mild cajun seasoning that was so mouth wateringly good that I didn't need salad dressing. The salad gotall the flavor from the shrimp. This place is awesome. My boyfriends lives in Chalmette and when I visit from California, this is where I want to go. We go up... to 4 times while I visit. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious. Can never go wrong with a pound of shrimp or somenumber 1 crabs. The crawfish étouffée is to die for, the boudin is tasty, and all the boil fixings ie sausage, mushrooms, etc.So good. The best thing is its not that expensive. pretty decently priced.
