Oysters are not fresh. Regardless of the variety, they should smell sea-breezy and sweet. These smelled fishy and the taste was... awful. They were shucked badly, punctured the meat of the oyster so the liquor wasn?t clear and the grit was left. It lookedlike they were Caper?s Blade, although the variety wasn?t listed. We should have asked, but slipped our mind. Capers bladesshould be sweet, with a slight salinity. These just taste like metallic garbage. Don?t bother ordering and it may even bedangerous to do so depending on how old these are?. Im sure there?s other items that are fine, it?s hard to mess up fried food.Perhaps the oysters were too niche an ask but oysters can be gotten very fresh even in the middle of the US because they willstay alive for awhile out of water. Service was excellent and the food was omg, so so good! I have been back twice since discovering it and plan to go again... tonight! The fried oysters are the best I?ve ever had. My friends got the fish and chips and they were good too. Prices arereasonable. Read more
Oh I can?t express enough how great the experience was. From entering until we left the service was great. Our server Jeremy was... excellent. The option ?E? on the menu was so delicious?well prepared. Clam chowder soup was one of my favorite too. Too bad Idon?t live here or I would happily return here to eat quite frequently. I was really in the mood for seafood so me and my cousin decided to check this place out. It was my first time there and had... been recommended by friends. We were seated and our waitress was quick. We ordered a dozen oysters and I got a seafood combowith shrimp, Crab and crawfish and I added clams. The oysters were actually fresh, I'm usually hesitant about getting anythingraw but my cousin really wanted them and they were good. Cleaned and served with hot sauce and horseradish, the brine and saltfrom the oyster brought me back to California on the pier. The seafood combo was also delicious. I had them make it witheverything sauce(cajun,garlic butter etc.) and hot. I definitely recommend if you're in the mood for a seafood boil, great forlarge groups but call ahead as they get busy for dinner. Read more
I can not say enough about this place! Samy was our awesome server, she is super friendly! The food was fabulous!!! It was fresh... and authentic! It's really hard to find good fresh seafood places in central Illinois so go there! The prices were good forfresh food. Highly recommended! Read more
