I just had some of the worst Chinese takeout in my entire life from Green Jade. I did a Google search for Chinese restaurants,... and this restaurant came up as a finalist in the best Chinese Restaurant category for Champaign-Urbana. My sister and I each gotan order of Szechuan Chicken and we ordered 2 appetizers: Vegetable Egg Rolls and Crab Rangoon to share. The chicken in bothorders of Szechuan Chicken was simply strips of chicken skin - there was absolutely no chicken meat. I understand thatrestaurants are trying to save money, but this is ridiculous. I?ve never had Szechuan Chicken made with just chicken skin. Mysister and I both felt that the meat was inedible. Perhaps some people would like just to have chicken skin; perhaps this iseven more authentic to Chinese cuisine, but I?ve never encountered the dish prepared this way in any of the many Chineserestaurants I?ve been to all over the United States. The vegetables accompanying the chicken skins were OK, but we had to fishout the inedible pieces of skin. In addition, both the crab rangoon and and the eggrolls were over cooked or had been under aheat lamp for far too long. Even some of the packages of condiments looked spoiled. I hope that they were just having an off dayat the Green Jade today, but unfortunately, it was so bad that neither my sister or I will give them a second chance. Read more

Hot, fresh, fast Chinese food with generous portions. Pretty typical of what you expect from a small Chinese restaurant in a... plaza. COVID-19 update: they've transformed their doors into a make shift walk up window. I was able to order online and paywhen I arrived. Kung Pao had no taste, and the pieces of chicken were way too soft. Sesame Chicken was tasty. Rice was nicely cooked. Hot and... Sour soup was very tasty with quality ingredients. The service was very prompt, but not too friendly or welcoming. However, whencoming in for a quick bite, it is not a deal breaker. The place would have received at least four stars from me, if it were notfor the following serious issue: It was quite dirty inside with stained, even sticky tables, and nasty overfilled garbage bin,which is right at the entrance, so you cannot avoid it. Their garbage bin is beyond filthy- there is a thick layer of dried upfood at the very opening. It is obvious that it has been there for months. We were totally grossed out!! I was not happy with the food I ordered. The tofu with vegetable meal was drenched in sauce. Most of the meal was sauce. The... sauce itself was very salty, and I did not like it. On a positive note the tofu was cooked well. Read more
