Quality has come down to this.. Got stuffed Potato Onion parantha. Either they rain out of the mixture or something but that so... called stuffed parantha was half empty.. Honestly, I don't know why this place has so many mediocre reviews on Google. Every time I've been to this place, the food has... been outstanding! For authentic Punjabi food, this is the best place I've been to so far in the US. Especially recommend alltheir Chaat - golgappe and aloo tikki chat are my favorites. The golgappe (pani puri shells) are semolina based I believe - theonly place in the US where I've had these. Of course, you can't leave without having their special chole bhatoore. Again thebhatoore are made fresh, the chana masala is proper dhaba style. First time I've come across whole spices in chana masala and itjust warmed my heart. 10/10 and I absolutely recommend this place to everyone visiting the DC area. Read more
Guys please save your time and money. Food is really not good. We ordered chole batura and chicken biryani. Cholesterol was... black and its not at all tasty. Worst chicken biryani I ever tasted in USA. The mixed cooked baskets rise with some gravy andgave it as chicken biryani. Customer service is not good.. I won't suggest this place to anyone. Read more
PLEASE READ THIS FOR PUBLIC SAFETY This has been the singularly WORST dining experience for me, as far back as EVER. This place... should be shut down. The food is deplorable, the service is nonexistent and the selling of products under the Punjabi name is afraud. I went there today with my family after a fun morning, hoping to have a cultural rewind to desi lunches filled withbuttery parathas and hot chhole with flavorful tandoori. Masala chai has to start this fantasy lunch right? They said they were“out of masala.” No big deal, we order regular chai but it comes out (after an eternity) in a paper cup, cold, smelling ofturned cooking oil. We cannot drink it. Then comes the chhole bhature. There are probably prison dishes which taste better thanthis. The samosa chat was literally the same chhole smeared on a sorry looking samosa. Did I mention everything was cold? Theparathas were cold, thin, soggy, with filling that I couldn’t even recognize (I had asked for an aloo paratha). The chickentandoori was boiled chicken with a smattering of tandoori masala rubbed on top. This is a particularly difficult thing to do,spoil the taste and texture of meat with such aplomb. The paneer smelled vinegar-y and was consistent with the theme of thelunch-cold and tasteless. We did complain about the chai while waiting for the food and they did bring us a second cup each,which was more palatable but we couldn’t bring ourselves to complain about the food. We really felt that a public safetyadvisory needs to be posted outside this hopeless kitchen. If they had any shame, they’d call me to apologize to my family andrefund us fully. Are there examples of suing a restaurant for emotional trauma? They not only spoilt our entire morning but wehad to look for hajmola to get the wretched taste out of our mouths. Worst Indian Food Ever in United States and HORRIBLE Customer Service. I had heard a lot about this place. Recently on November... 11th 2021, I ordered 1.Paneer kathi Roll 2.Chole Bature 3.Hakka Noodles. Chole Bature- Chole was smelly and Batura was soaked inoil and felt like my mouth is full of spoiled oil.(when asked to owner her words were...hum ji batura aise hi banate hain.) Seriously!!! She was very proud of serving this type of Bhatura from last 13+ years. Paneer kathi roll- Paneer inside the rollwas so sour.(when asked to owner... her words were ''Neembu zyada dal gaya hoga'") Hakka Noodles- It was Soy sauce Noodles ormy child named it as Black Noodles.(when asked to owner..her words were.. "hum noodles Soy Sauce mein hi banate hain". Does thatmean she use only Soy sauce and no other sauce??) TASTELESS BLACK NOODLES - Order it if you want to drink soya sauce. I meanwe always think that if one thing is not good may be the other would be better. Thinking that we ordered 3 items and it was acomplete waste of $50 and no value for your money. My all-time favorites have to be chicken curry, chur chur naan, and choley batura. Eating here makes me feel at home ????
