Was so excited to see this open in Chapel Hill. Hands-down my favorite smoothie. I?ve been here two times. Once, we walked in... ordered and got the worst tasting smoothies I?ve ever gotten from any tropical smoothie location. So we didn?t try it again fora while. Decided to let them work out the kinks and get the staff trained up. But it is painful to find parking on FranklinStreet, so I was even more elated to see that they offered curbside delivery through their mobile app. Big mistake. Just assumethey don?t do curbside. I sat out there for 10 minutes. Called them on three different occasions to let them know I was outthere. On my last call, I was told that they never received my order and that I would have to come inside to get it straightwith someone who could help me. So I parked the car down the block and walked in. Not an absolute inconvenience in a normalscenario. But it was the kind of day I really needed to not have to park the car and walk down Franklin. If I knew curbside wasnot an option, I would?ve skipped it today. I walk in, and my order is sitting in the pick up cubbies for to go orders. Verywatery of course as they?ve been sitting there for about 15 minutes at this point. No one even uttered as much as an apology oran offer to remake them. I absolutely love Tropical Smoothie Cafe! I ordered a Sunrise Sunset smoothie w/ whey protein powder and it was delicious. I... paired it w/ an All American Wrap and a Tropical Teriyaki Flatbread and it was just as amazing. I highly recommend coming herefor breakfast and lunch bites! Read more
I was excited to see a Tropical Smoothie open in town. I could taste the Buffalo chicken wrap and Acai smoothie, but that didn?t... happen today. The mask mandate has been repealed for several weeks now. No other restaurant on Franklin Street makes you wear amask currently. I saw the sign coming in. The lady at the front counter asked where my mask was, I asked whether she had one Icould use. Then she told me I could order at the window from the outside. I would?ve gone outside and got a mask out of my car,but the interaction was nothing but pleasant. I understand it?s an independent business and they can mandate what they want tofor the customers. But remember, if you?re asking for something that nobody else is asking for, you might want to be kind andprovide a mask if you're that concerned. Now, I understand why there was no other customer in the restaurant at dinner time. Ifyou read the other reviews, it talks about the attitude of the employees.
