A nice restaurant. The Hallibut and crab cakes were delicious. As was the pumpkin creme brulee. The she crab soup was... terrible. Others with me said the scallops were great and sea bass was good. The sides were large and shareable but nothinggrand enough to brag about. Overall it was a good restaurant, but for the price I think there are better in Charleston. Read more

My friend and I had a reservation made by phone for a restaurant week in September 2022. When we came to the restaurant there... was no reserved table for our 8 people group and they didn't participate in the restaurant week. I ordered crab sandwich and aside of Caesar salad. We asked for anchovies on the top . The waitress was nice and said she will ask the chef about theanchovies. What I've got was not acceptable in the high end restaurant. The sandwich wasn't bad but nothing special. The saladwas overdressed and it had some small marinated herrings on the top. The waitress was told in the kitchen they're anchovies.Probably she had no idea what she's serving to the table. We asked for a manager who was sorry and polite. He said that theychanged the chef and he tries new things..... For my understanding is telling the client false information what he gets. We gotcharged $5 for those herrings. Overall overpriced dishes you can get mych better in other places. Very bad experience. Read more

Classy dining room for dinner. The food was good but nothing special: we started with the mozarella buffala, then shrimp& grit... with fondant potatoes. You pay 14$ for 5 pieces of roasted potatoes !!! The lobster mac&cheese not worth it at all if you wantto eat lobster !! It is basically pasta and sauce that?s it for 52$ !!!! Luckily they did offer us that dish because of mycomplaint. For the price of that dinner you can have a good fine dining in another place. I would definitively not recommend . Read more

Everyone enjoyed their meals, however I ordered the smoked brisket and it was really dry and really tough. It made me wonder... exactly what they were thinking having it on the menu at all. Now granted this was a Monday night, and maybe not their ?A? chefbut it was rather surprising for a place with most entrees over 50 bucks a pop including this one. Brisket is not an easy thingto do well, and this was a combination of a poor piece of beef and very poor cooking technique and worst of all, a very badchoice to send it to the table In the desiccated condition it was in. We had PEI oysters that were fantastic. Everyone did enjoytheir dishes and the haddock replacement I had was good. Not great. Salty broth with not a lot going on besides the salt. All inall, we had an enjoyable meal, but for the prices you can eat at a restaurant with a Michelin star in the DC area that willknock your socks off. Decent job. Not worth the prices. We?ve found it generally true that Charleston has a bit of an inflatedview of its itself when it comes to the dining prices charged. Can?t recommend. Staff was friendly. Read more

Excellent lunch spot inside the Bennet Hotel with both informal and formal seating as well as outdoor. Full bar with a nice... cocktail variety and wine list. Great service and delicious items such as the crab soup, green fried tomato sandwich and friedchicken. Enjoyed every bite! ???????? Read more

Popped in on a beautiful Saturday afternoon for a refreshing cocktail after shopping for hours. We're seated promptly as they... weren't terribly busy. And then we waited and waited for a server. And then we watched another table who entered well afterus, receive prompt service. Finally after about 15 minutes we placed a drink order and asked for ice water also. And then wewaited some more and were getting up to leave when our order arrived minus the glasses of ice water. When we advised the sameserver who took our order that we asked for ice water she apologized, left and never came back. We thought of planning aweekend getaway there in the near future, but won't now based on how bad the service was for two overpriced cocktails. Also thecouple seated next to us received a wrong cocktail from a different server after waiting for an abnormal amount oftime. Beautiful place but the service is really lacking. People, regardless of status, are not inclined to waste time andmoney for the benefit of an establishment that cannot perform it's basic function. Service. Read more

The food and service were great! We had oysters on the half shell and roasted oysters for appetizers (which were both amazing)... and my husband had the duck confit and I had the swordfish. My husband said his duck confit was one of the best ever and myswordfish was incredible. The service by Alex was wonderful! Read more
