This place is easily in the top 5 places I?ve ever ate anywhere. The food was so incredible and such a unique menu. Beyond that,... the service was amazing. The food was delicious and restaurant is located in heart of downtown Charleston! We ordered the crab cake Benedict and French... toast which was the perfect meal for a Sunday brunch. My wife and I made a trip to Charleston this past July and we visited High Cotton to celebrate our anniversary. While this... review is a few months late, I still think about this experience fairly regularly! Starting with the appearance of therestaurant itself, it?s just about what you would expect from a nicer, southern restaurant. We had dinner for our experience sothe restaurant was dimly lit. The interior consist of beautiful hardwoods, exposed brick and nice linens. When you walk in, youare greeted by the host table. From there you can go left and go into the bar which was playing live music. The other option isto go right into the dining room. We ate in the dining room and was sat in a semi round booth. It was the perfect setting for anice romantic, anniversary dinner! This was our first time to Charleston so we had to try all the local food that Charleston isknown for. We started with She Crab Soup. It was great! We split the bowl and I think we both agreed we could have had a bowl toourselves with how good it was! For our entrees, my wife got the Antarctic Salmon. She said it was one of the best salmon she?shad and the ?forbidden black rice? was not only good, but it?s look really set off the plate. After all the the tours we had andeveryone telling us how Charleston is know for Shrimp & Grits, I had to try it and it was the best design I made! This meal forme is easily one of the best meals I?ve ever had! Everything about it was perfect! I?ve been trying to chase a meal like thisever since but living in Ohio limits my options! Finally, the service is what you expect out of a nice restaurant! Everyone wasnice, friendly and very knowledgeable about the restaurant and the menu. The manager came around at the end of our meal andcongratulated us on our anniversary and presented us with two glasses of champagne to toast and celebrate with!
