Ok...I love me a good cookie. And I try about every cookie place I can find. We stumbled upon King Street Cookies...walked... in....we were the only people in there yet two workers said nothing. I walked up and back down the counter of cookies to browsewhat I was going to pick from. I ended up with ... I believe 7 different cookies. I believe it was a chocolate chip with pecanswas the first one I broke a piece off of. Wasn't bad. But as I continued to try the other ones, they all seemed dry. Thecookies did not have a gooey soft consistency. They just kind of tasted old and dry. They did have a milk machine...which Ithought was super awesome. But you would have had to buy milk just to moisten the cookies. Definitely not my favorite. Iwould pass that cookie shop up between the staff being rude and the cookies just being below average....I would just walk onby... Read more
Walking into the King Street store, it absolutely reeked of an extremely overpowering chemical cleaning smell (the odor was the... same as the stuff they use in my local animal shelter to clean the cages). When I got my cookies home and started eating them,they smelled and tasted like the cleaning chemicals! It was disgusting. I had to throw all of them away (also, the couple bitesI did have were not very good at all--dry and crumbly). I emailed the store to let them know about this as it affected the tasteof the cookies but is also a potential health hazard, and I never got a response. They do have a lot of different varieties which is pretty neat. I tried 3-s?mores, snickerdoodle, and peanut butter. All of them... were just ok. I heard great things about this place so was excited to try but was disappointed by mediocre cookies. The ownerhas his dog out, I love dogs so had no problem with this but I asked if I could pet the dog and he said I could stick my handout in front of the dog and it was up to him if he wanted to be pet. As a dog owner, I would never have my dog walking around myplace of business if he wasn?t the friendliest dog ever so I found this odd. Read more

We met the owner and he was very friendly. Better yet, the cookie was surprisingly more delicious than we expected. It was hefty... and slightly gooey in the middle and incredibly moist. This is a great place with delicious cookies, not sub par or even par,but a hole in one kind of taste. Read more

Extremely kind and patient staff today - brunette in 20s/MAYBE 30s with glasses - every cookie we got was crazy fresh and really... delicious. Always love stopping here when in Charleston. The cookie select is insane if you come at a good time. Very fairprices too especially with the buy more get more options. Was happy to be able to bring treats home to my husband a few hoursaway and a few extras for me too. Thanks for the treat and being so nice! Read more
