Loved our time at Melfi’s. The food was excellent. Atmosphere was great. We could have sat there all night. Our server, I... believe his name was Johnny, was outstanding. One of the best experiences I have had due to his laid back nature and connectionwith us as guests. We ordered a lot of stuff and it was all good, but the plum dessert (not pictured) is a must. Hands down one of the best dining experiences We’ve had in Charleston in quite a while. From the unique flavor combos,... artistically crafted cocktails, delicious deserts, and 5 star service, we left in anticipation of our nextvisit. Recommendations: Osso Bucco, Grilled Branzino,, Paccheri, CHOCOLATE CHERRY PUDDING, and the spicy Caesar. My 1st time here and I really liked it. I got the calamari and it was absolutely awesome. The chef special the pizza should be... on their daily menu. I asked to be sit outside and the outdoor decor is relaxing and peaceful. I got so full. The staff was thebest. They were all smiling and checking to make sure I was good. Melfi's is definitely a fine dining restaurant and my experience was nothing but good. I really loved the food! The 'Warm Crab... Bruschetta' as a starter was fantastic. The bread was so fresh and perfectly crunchy... The combination of flavors and textureswas perfect. As for the main meal, I got 'Bucatini 'Cacio e Pepe'. Same! Amazing! This place is fantastic! The service is friendly and attentive, I don't think our water glasses were ever empty. We had some... pizza and tiramisu, both were delicious! We didn't order wine but one of the couples next to us did and it seems that the staffis very knowledgeable. Even the other patrons were friendly. As stated in my Leon's review, we thought it was odd for a restaurant to send us to another restaurant for drinks while we wait... for our table. However we were glad they did. Our experience at Melfi's was awesome. I love the music, jazzy blues with a bigband feel. There is a gentleman who opens the door for you and it feels like you've stepped back in time. We sat at the bar andhad a few cocktails, before we knew it an hour had passed. I would absolutely visit again to actually dine in. The staff waswonderful, I liked the look of the bartenders with "old school" aprons on and the manager/owner who wore a suit while helpingout. I had the Debbie Don't - this is definitely a lady drink, I loved it!! My husband had a cocktail and specialty coffee typebeer. Put Melfi's on your Charleston list of must visit places! Read more
I would leave zero stars if I could. My coworker recommended this place & I’m honestly not sure why. The food is underwhelming... for the price and to make it even worse it is not even close to authentic. I ordered the RIGATONI, it came out with no taste orsauce. After I opened it up for leftovers it looked even worst, just Awful. I also ordered a cocktail, a Negroni. It took 20mins & actually tasted like cough medicine I sent it back. I ordered their classic gin & tonic & was still not impressed. Ishould’ve just stuck to the water & saved $20. Italian food should be at the minimum delicious. Melfi’s is bottom of mylist for Italian do not bother to come here. Read more
