The wife and I did not want to go home from vacation so we decided to get something to eat in Charleston. We went to Big Joes.... It was difficult to get to because the roads were blocked off for some event. Once we got to Big Joes we were the only peoplein the place. I guess we were very early. I'm glad we went though. We shared a basket of onion rings that were crispy anddelicious. The wife got the pulled pork sandwich with chips that she said was very good. I got the Big Joe Burger. In general the price of everything here is not in line with the cost of living in the state of west Virginia and the city of... Charleston. It's strange to go down the street and get a pint of an awesome craft beer for the same price as a Michelob Ultra.The markup is crazy and weird. Read more
Suzanne RUNS this joint. Whoever owns this place, you have a STAR employee. It?s midnight on a Saturday and she is the only bar... tender but somehow managing to keep this bar drinking AND EATING. She is so sweet and made this a good experience for me and myfriends. Give this gal a raise ! Read more
I went for lunch today and got the pulled pork sandwich with chips. The sandwich had a huge portion of meat, and was very... delicious with a unique spicy slaw, but the chips were a little too overdone for my liking. Definitely recommend and will beback! Read more
The food was cooked perfectly. This place was also one of the few places still open at 2200 on a Tuesday. Lastly, the staff was... unnecessarily kind. We were looking for a place to buy some snacks before we crashed for the night (on a road trip going acrossthe country.) The staff not only recommended places that might still be open but they even called a few of the places to checkfor us. I would highly recommend this place. Read more
Nice bar for hanging out and eat something. They also stay open late which is a bonus if your want to grab something to eat.
Went in on a Tuesday for lunch. Wonderful bartender... Didn't catch your name (sorry) The food was excellent. Dirty Bird... sandwich and onion rings on point. Rodeo Burger and fries was also banging. Thank you Big Joe's! Read more
I want to give this place 5 stars so bad. But I can't. They charge for soda refills and the owner sat at the end of the bar... and just barked orders to the staff. Read more
