My husband and I had an amazing experience at Grey Gables! Everything from the food to the service was of superb quality. The... ambiance was cozy yet very classy, and we were greeted by a friendly hostess who escorted us to a perfect corner spot. Ourserver Ken was very friendly and helpful. He recommended the baked and stuffed white fish, so I ordered that and my husbandordered the stuffed Dover special. We also had some tasty scones and warm bread while we waited for our meals. We were both overthe moon with our choices. I seriously wish I could go back in time to eat this meal for the first time again. I had a sweetRiesling from the expansive selection of wines, and we finished up the night with a baked peach crisp with some ice cream. How did we not know about this place?! It?s been there since 1936 and we?ve visited Charlevoix numerous times. It?s a gorgeous... Victorian house with tons of dining area spread out in different rooms. It?s off the beaten track, so you have to know it?sthere. We didn?t have a reservation on a weeknight in October. Hubby and I each had the Broiled White Fish. Absolutelyscrumptious!! I think I ?yummed? out loud several times! The vegetable that came with it was broccoli, which I have troubledigesting. When the waiter asked what I could substitute, he said cauliflower, which is also difficult for me. I asked for asalad then , which he said they?d have to charge for. But later, he came back and said they could do beans at no charge. Done! Ialso had a Brandy Alexander, which was awesome. They have a huge wine list and decent beer list as well. We will be back!!! Excellent meal. Everything from appetizer to dessert was good. Duck was so tender you could have ate it without teeth.

Chose Grey Gables for our family to celebrate a milestone birthday. With a party of 16 adults and kids, they were the only... location out of several contacted in the area to accept a reservation for a party that size. The entire experience wasoutstanding. Though the restaurant was busy, we were seated at one table, our server was attentive, drinks, appetizers, and maindishes were all delicious. Most importantly, there were plenty of entree options for the kids, teenagers and adults. Overallour family really enjoyed the experience and will definitely be back. One bit of advice, though the parking is free, it is onthe street in a residential neighborhood so allow yourself time to find a spot during peak dining hours. Read more
