1st impression: person at counter not attentive and distracted once ready to place order I was told No Plantains ???????????... Mannnnn??. Counter person did not suggest a interchangeable replacement which was disappointing. Over all food was good okrataste great despite the look oxtail rice and peas tasted well seasoned had little more fat than I?m use to and cabbage tastedproper but I suspected a can of mixed vegetables(carrots,peas,corn) was added. I enjoy the food. The beef patties are great. All the staff are always nice. I like the curry chicken and the jerk chicken. Some... times the jerk chicken is so hot I can't eat it. You'll need to figure out who is cooking that day to understand how you likeyour food. It's one of the better places with authentic Caribbean food. I do recommend this place. Read more
Customer service was excellent as they let me in when they were closing. The most important part was gross. My food was... definitely it made to order and the chicken was tough as it was reheated in the microwave. The plantains were not good either. Icannot recommend this place in good conscience. I honestly wished they?d told me the kitchen was closed than to serve and chargeme a good amount for food that needed to be thrown out. Read more
Plantain's we're VERY!! First time ever having Jamaican food and let?s just say if this is what it?s supposed to taste like it was amazing lol.
I?m soooo sick of them. They NEVER get my order right. I only go bc it?s the closet one or else I would go the one on North... Tryon. The service and the flavor of the food is WAYYY better. WOODLAWN charges you an arm and a leg for the food but fail todeliver the entire meal. They never add plantains to my meal. I called my order in TODAY I always have to ask ?WILL THERE BEPLANTAINS? the lady says ?YES? ok cool! So I get to my destination and NO PLANTAINS. I?m like Done with this restaurantlocation. The restaurant has a lunch special that supposedly last until 4p.m. I arrived at the restaurant around 3:48. The line was held... until after 4. Advised cashier that I was there before 4 to order lunch special was basically told oh well it's after 4 with noremorse. Granted someone that I was with had just placed an order per the receipt at 4:02 and was able to receive the lunchspecial. Ended up paying FULL PRICE for the smallest portion of chicken I've ever received from here. The pieces posted aresupposed to be curry chicken THIGHS. Cashier did it intentionally and they lost a loyal customer. No need to reply to thismessage because, today will be my LAST time giving Caribbean Hut any further BUSINESS. Read more
Lackluster space but amazing food. Great service but must be mindful that a lot of ppl do takeout. This created a long wait for... food service. We didn't get any refills on Drinks but the food was more than filling. The waitress was kind and veryrespectful. She apologized for wait inconvenience it didn't bother us at all. Much better than my last encounter years ago. Ihad Brown stew chicken and got a great portion. They aren't stingy on the entree!!! Worth the price! Read more
